This cute board book features children playing in the park during the fall. With vivid autumn colors and two word sentences, this book is great for the youngest readers who can turn pages quickly and explore the lovely images.
What I loved: The illustrations are lovely, and the colors are vivid and bright with a fall theme. Babies and toddlers will enjoy the images as well as the brief sentences which allow for quicker page-turning. There is a great diversity among the children pictured which is lovely. Adding to that, the animals (e.g. squirrel and puppy) shown are nice additions that toddlers will enjoy.
What left me wanting more: One of the pages reads “Babies toss.” This features a child throwing leaves in the face of another child. I would prefer that the leaves were being thrown into the air, even though both children are smiling. This is not a great thing to teach to young children. The “babies” in this book also look more like toddlers/children, which is a little bit of a disconnect, but still great images.
Final verdict: This book is a great choice for older infants/toddlers who like to turn pages quickly and enjoy vivid illustrations. Aside from the child throwing leaves at another child, the book features some fun phrases along with lovely images that are simple enough for the youngest readers to enjoy.
