When Helicity records her first tornado, the experience is frightening and sticks with her. She's always wanted to be a meteorologist, but finds herself afraid of the destruction those storms bring. She witnesses it firsthand with her brother. He went after her, but got hit by debris and winds up in the hospital with a shattered arm.

After the tornado, Helicity meets Lana who is looking for images or videos of the tornado. Lana is fascinated by Helicity's natural talent and curiosity of all things weather. For that reason, Lana asks Helicity to join her in storm chasing for the summer. It's Helicity's dream come true, but she will learn more than she ever could've imagined.

CHASING HELICITY is about the dangers a storm can have and that it shouldn't be underestimated. It also teaches about conquering your fear and that living through a storm doesn't make you a victim. It makes you a survivor. The only thing I wish would be different was for there to be more to the plot. It was a very simple and easy read, but there wasn't much depth.

Final Verdict: I would recommend this to fans of weather and to those children who dream of being a meteorologist. It shows what chasing storms is really like and that it isn't all fun and games. It has to be done safely and in numbers.
