"And you're my Margaret." -Pip

I'm going to admit that the initial reason I wanted to read MARGARET AND THE MOTH TREE was because my own daughter is named Margaret. I started this book just a few hours ago and could not put it down. It was so well-written. There is a classic feel to the writing that makes the story sink right into your soul. I actually underlined several lines in this book because it was just so right.

I loved the moths. They were playful and fun and not really at all what you might think a moth might talk like, if you think moths would talk to each other. I know I'll never look at a moth the same way. :) Pip, the moth, becomes Margaret's first friend and she learns all about the games that moths play at night. The moths help Margaret and the other orphans show the true side of Miss Switch in quite the dramatic fashion.

I hope you read this and I hope it becomes a staple on your family bookshelf. I think this could easily make my top Middle Grade book of the year list. This book should become a treasure and be enjoyed for many years to come.

I'll leave you with one of my favorite quotes from the book...
"Do you know the feeling you get right before a china plate smashes to the ground? Unless you are in a Greek restaurant, this is a very tense sort of feeling to have."
