Before this book, I had never read any book of the Captial Mysteries series. Boy, was I surprised at how fun they are! I actually read this book with my 6 year old and he absolutely loved it, and so did I.
Marshall and KC are best friends and they are currently following the Vice President to her farm via train. KC is the president's stepdaughter, so that is why she and Marshall get this fun opportunity to follow the VP! It was a blast reading about the two children discovering riding a train for the first time. My son has never rode on a train, so it was great to be able to talk to him about walking through a moving train, getting snacks on a train, etc.
Things take a mysterious turn when the train car holding the VP vanishes and KC and Marshall are trapped on the train trying to figure out what happened! What happens next is a fun, edge of your seat read that will keep young ones reading until the very end!
This is a wonderful chapter book for readers who are reading on a 2nd or 3rd grade level and love mysteries! I highly recommend this book and can't wait to read more of the series!
