Graphic Universe has a winning idea here: create stories on major issues in American history using graphic novels. It's a great way to introduce history to reluctant readers. My fifth grader is learning about the the American Revolutionary War and he loved reading this book.

This story is about John Darragh, who helped pass news to the Colonists. His family were Quakers but even though they hated violence they did their part to help the war effort. The illustrations help with the story too. What I love as an educator is how the illustrations appeal to children and help motivate them to want to learn more about an important event in our history.

There's more graphic novels in this series. I can't wait to share them with my son.
