Dragon of the Red Dawn by Mary Pope Osborne is about two kids named Annie and Jackwho had traveled to one of a Morgan Mission. A Morgan Mission is a mission by Morgan. Morgan is a king in camelot were every one there is a ghost but you can only see them if there close to you.
One day when Jack and Annie were sleeping they heard a tap, tap, tap on there window. They looked there was nothing there then Annie realized it was one of Morgans ghosts that they must follow. Jack and Annie met the ghost in a magic tree house were if u point at a books cover it will teleport you there. The ghost said " Morgan has sent me to tell you to find a secret happy place."Then the ghost gave Jack and Annie a Magic Wand that could only help others Jack put that in his backpack. Jack and Annie picked up a book it was "A journey to old Japan." Jack and Annie said together "We want to go there!" The tree house teleported Jack and Annie to japan right next to the imperial garden. When Jack and Annie looked at each other they both had robes on and Jacks backpack was just a sack. When they got down from the tree house there was a man on a horse with a sword he was a samurai. Also in japan if a samurai comes up to and says "weres your passport?" If you dont have a passport they will think you are a spy and not let you in. Jack and Annie was right behind a bush.Jack just said "Lets take a run for it!" The samurai spoted them running and yelled "HALT!" Jack and Annie ran untill they were out of breath. The samuria said "Weres your passports?" Then an old man came aloung and said "Baku Koto!" The samuria bowed before the man.
The man got them out of that bad situation Jack and Annie said "whats your name?" The man said "Basho." Basho showed them around and they saw a play about a dragon named the cloud dragon that would have rain come out of his mouth not fire. After the play it was night for japann Basho let them in his house and let them sleep.
CLANG ,CLANG. There was a fire in japan! Everyone helped from the sea to the capitol. Jack and Annie ran with buckets of water to help. Basho said to Jack and Annie "Go back to the house it is very dangourus!" On the way back to the house Annie remembered the wand. They picked it up and yelled "PUT OUT THE FIRE!" A dragon came it was the cloud dragon. Annie jumped on the dragon and Jack realized he should jump on to. The dragon sprayed everything with rain and saved the day!
Over all i Give this book 5 out of 5 stars. The author could have done better on some dialog parts. But she did great and making the book fun to read. I think this book is for ages 8+.
