In complex emotions, people can easily make decisions/assumptions that can ultimately have unintended consequences.
This book pulled me in with the idea of doing an unknown good versus an unknown enemy and I can appreciate the nearly devestating truth.
A boy in a tragic accident witnesses supernatural animals that feed off the life force of those mortally injured. Now given this new perception on death and pain, he joins up with a small gang of kids, determined to fight this unknown and invisible enemy.
I read this in high school, and despite the elementary reading level, I still enjoyed the basic concepts.
