Margaret Simon is almost twelve. She just moved from New York City to the suburbs. She met some new friends and is exicted to try and fit in. But, when her friends start a group were they talk about boys, periods etc., Margaret is happy but she does not have a religion. Margaret can not tell them that. She is in search for a religion.
i read this book about one week ago. i think every girl should read this book. this book is about margret who is a little confused about religion. and she really wants to get her period and grow her brests. she got in a group with her friends called the pts (the pree teen sensation). i very humorous book.
The book Are You There God? It's Me Margret is about a young girl named Margret who just moved from her home in New York and is trying to understand what she can do to be more religious when her teacher assigns her a project to be worked on all year. Through the book, as Margret tries to understand the reasons for things that have happened or are happening in her life, she writes letters to God which express her feelings in an exteremely informal way. I enjoyed this book because of the lack of understanding in Margret.
In new york a few girls start a club in the club they talk about boys, bras and getting their first periods. Maragaret who is new is happy to have joined the secret club. But all of the girls in the club have a religion and they can't beleive that Maragaret doesn't have one. So they all invite her to their church and to find out what happens read the book! I loved it and I think you will also.
This book perfectly captures the life of a girl growing up. I couldn't put it down and have read it twice. It made me compare my own life to Margaret's and it was so similar and realistic. It was funny and emotional and a fast read. You'll remember the characters forever because they are so true and funny. I recommend it for teen girls or older if they want a refreshing recap of life during puberty. :)
I love this book, because it shows Margaret becoming an adult. I think it helps girls understand or feel more confortble with growing up and not belonging.I don't know why it is among the list of most banned books.
I love this book! It was a great story about a normal 12 year old girl who is stuck between the worlds [that we all have been stuck in] of school, family, religion, and friends. This book was awesome and I could definatley relate to!!
