I loved this book! My librarian, Mrs. Cummings, read it to us over a matter of weeks. I loved it so much, the day after she finished reading it to us, i ran to the library to see if it was alvailable, but another Haddix-Loving fan had already picked it up.

I give this book 5 stars easily; it deserves 10!!!

After the Government purchases the woods behind the Garners house from them to build mansions, twelve-year-old Luke is forced to remain inside and away from windows. He looks on with envy as his older brothers complain about going to school and perform outdoor chores on the Garners farm, and yet he mustnt complain, because they are keeping him hidden for his own safety.

Luke Garner is a third child, one of the Shadow Children, illegal under the Population Law. To the rest of the world except his immediate family, he doesnt exist. His world is his familys farm, and, after the taking away of their forest, his house.
Then one day, in the window of one of the mansions in his backyard, he spies the face of a young girl in a house he knows already has two children. Luke soon strikes up a friendship with Jenny, another illegal third child.

Unlike Luke, however, Jenny is full of strength and ideas. She plans to gather a group of Shadow Children, found from their online chat board, and march to the White House. She invites Luke along, but he is afraid. Does he choose to stand up for his own rights or to save himself for perhaps a better future?

AMONG THE HIDDEN marks the beginning of a startling new series by acclaimed author Margeret Peterson Haddix. Anyone who enjoys dystopian books should pick up this one.

This is an amazing book. It's in a time where families could only have a specific number of kids. One kid is the extra child and he has to hide all the time. The government will take him if he gets caught. One day he decides to leave the house and he meets another hidden child. It is all about what they see after coming out of hiding.

Lets just say that you have to read it to believe it. It is a science fiction book about a place that the parents are only allowed to have two children. If you have more than two children the child is either put into hiding, killed, or put into adoption. There is one family that has three children and the third child is named Luke. Luke is put into hiding. He leaves the house and finds a girl named Jennifer who is also a third child. Read this book and find out what happens when all of the third children rally outside of the goverment house. I liked this book but it was boring sometimes.

This book is about a young boy who lives in a community where it is illegal to have more than two children in the home. He is the third. So everyday he must hide out, so nobody knows he's there. In the end, he meets someone just like him.

I liked this book a lot, because it made me sad and I like books like that.

I would recommend this to anyone.

Im reading a book called Among The Hidden. It took my class and I a long time to read this book but I liked it. Now I want to read all of your other book. Its about a child that is hidden from the population police, hes a third child.  But they are not allowed to have more than two children.

Now I want you to read all of your other books.  I have to say that I liked everything about this book. It was not too long and not too short and it was very detailed like you made us feel like we were in the book.

I liked this book and now I hope you do too.  I think people who like to be excited and some parts were sad.

                                                                 Shadow children

This book is about Luke meeting Jen one day when he snuck over Her house and broke in and was hit by Jen thats when they didnt know other but this is how they meet Luke is a shadow child the same way Luke is.                                                                                                                                                                                                                 I feel really bad that they had to stay in the house just because they were third children . If you havent read the book you should read it because it is a very good book and you will enjoy it. I liked it because it was interesting because I learned about the population law but .I think it is stupid because of how u can only have two children. But I also like the book because of how saw Jen.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  I think that is very, very cool how he would hang out with Jen but when Jen started talking about the rally he. I new something was up and even she was tiring to get Luke to go with here and 40 friends im glad he didnt go he wouldve got killed. If  u havent read this book you should read it is a very good book. I think you will enjoy it.                                                                                                                                                               I think Austin would like it thats what I would think

I didn't like the book because I like books with fighting and action.  This book was more about emotions. I thought it was a 3 star book. I love the part  when Jen tackles Luke.  GoodBye forever!!!!!!
