This book was the best book i have read in a very long time. I reckon this book was a lil boring to start off with I was going to ignore it at first but after I read a couple of pages I was quickly caught up in the book the emotions of the characters. I felt sorry for carl the abuse from his aunt he had to endure. I also felt sorry for the mistreatment of maddie from nathan.
at the end i just couldn't put the book down I hope that there might be a continuation of some sort maybe another novel to show how carl is doing.
this book is a real emotion stirrer in so many places.
I rate this book a work of art and one worth reading by everyone this is such a great book.
Well i rkn that A BRIDGE TO WISEMAN'S COVE is a really good book and that many students should read it durig their skool years. im in yr 9 and i think the book is grat but we need more of a challenge for yr 9. whilst reading this book many feelings went through my head about how carl would feel at times. well newaii i want to ncourage students to read this book while they are at skool. =]
a bridge to wiseman's cove is one of the most compelling books i have ever read and believe you - me i've read a lot of them. a bridge to wiseman's cove is full of exitement, humor, sadness, happiness, boys who are idiots and realy hot girls. the the main charecter is a fat lonely fatherless boy who has never had a girlfriend or a friend and his mother can't stand to look at him. his brother and him were sent up to a strange new town where their aunty lives but she neglects them too and finaly main charecter finds a job working on a rusty old barge with a man named skip duncan but his families past comes back to haunt him when skip tells him how he got a stiff leg.
this book was great the cover makes the book look boring but when you get into it you really get into it some of things in the book sort of made you think how lucky you are if i had carls life i would die. READ IT i really reck amend it
A Bridge to Wiseman Cove is a very was a very touching story and really opened my eyes to how kids and teenagers must feel when they are deserted by their guardians.
At the start of the story, it was really intriging how James Moloney described what the matt kids acted like and knew about each other. While getting into the heart of the story the author described the characters feelings in a very descriptive way which really let me understand the story more and more.
My fave part of the story was in the end when things were finally turning around with Carl. he had recognised and acknoledged all the bad things of being a Matt and had overcomed them and dat people is one of the greatest acheivements of all.
I had to read this book for school and was reluctant to start reading it, but once I started reading i couldn't put the book down. I thought it was really good, it tackles many issues such as gambling, weight issues, parties and many other things without making it boring. I would reccomend this book to anyone looking for a great read!
I chose this book to read. We are also reading this book at school, but I had already read it a couple of times. The main character, Carl Matt, is different to your average hero. Change of build and personality. He has spirit he is an excellent example that not every hero has to look like a hero. James Moloney can really write, I've read a couple of his other books. I recommend this book to anybdy with an open mind to new things. There are thrills all along the way!
i love this novel !!!. A Bridge to Wiseman's Cove has inspired me in many ways. The best part about this novel is that it shows the teenage audiences the real meaning of love and hope. The character Carl is the one who has helped most teenagers realise that. I had to read this novel for english and i first thought "hey this book seems really boring" but when i had the chance to read it, then i knew how important it was for me and other students.
If i had the chance to read this novel again i would but too bad that the teacher has to collected it!!! ...lol... well i hope that the other readers' have enjoyed this novel because im quite sure that i did!!!
thank you James Molony for writing a beautiful novel like this!!!
