A Fantastic Middle Grade Series

I absolutely loved this book, and I think it would appeal to any reluctant middle grade reader with its solid cast of characters, humor, action, and adventure. The Hero's Guide to Storming the Castle had everything a good middle grade book should have. It was nice seeing classic stories...

A fun contemporary with a sweet, lighthearted romance

I really, really liked This Is What Happy Looks Like. I’ve never read anything by Jennifer E. Smith before, but now I’m curious to see what else there is. It was the kind of book that made me smile just reading it—and I wish I hadn’t read it...

It was just ok

I don't have much to say about this book, other than I wanted to like it, I really did, but there were just some issues with it that I couldn't get past. The characters were ok, but that was it. This book wasn't for me, but someone else...

A wonderful follow-up

Unbroken was a wonderful follow-up to Ruined. I’m glad that some of the original characters were involved, as well as some news ones. As always, it was a cute ghost story, full of twists and turns. Some things were easy to guess, but that didn’t take away...

I like it as a cute mystery.

The Girl is Murder was a cute mystery, and a fast read. I really like how the romance element was kept at a minimum, since some books—and I’m not pointing fingers—take it too far. I applaud Haines for presenting a mystery that can be enjoyed by all ages....

An excellent end…

I read this book years ago, but I still consider it one of my favorites. I really like Holly Black’s writing style, and I felt like Ironside was an excellent end to an excellent series.

I like it, a good ghost story.

I love it when YA’s have settings that are damaged in some way, and Ruined was in no shortage of that. Ruined is set in New Orleans, the Garden District to be exact, which is where Rebecca Brown it sent to stay after her father leaves on business. ...

I absolutely loved it.

To put it simply, I loved the Diviner’s. It was quirky, elegant, and beautifully written with an amazing storyline. I liked the characters, and how each one came from different circumstances—they certainly weren’t cookie-cutter YA character. It wasn’t just the diverse cast that I liked...
