This book is awesome, not only for guys but for girls too (me being a girl myself).

There is action and adventure as Eragon proves himself to all those who think it is a tradgidy that he is chosen as the new dragon rider (because a human is too weak and betrayed them all) with Saphira (his dragon). There is also a small element of unrequitted love for Eragon.

I very much enjoyed the way this story was woven out. It began in bright, exciting colors, and I have yet to stop goggling. I cannot wait until the next book comes, out. I am very eager to continue the masterpiece.

I fell in love with this book! When people describe this book, they usually complain about its length. I must admit, it was pretty lengthy, and started me reading longer books, but it's so worth it. I loved him as he got Saphira's egg, met Brom, and everything he did. I pity those who think that just because this book is long, they can't read a great story! So read Eragon, or you'll regret that you didn't read it in so long after I finally persuade you to read it!

Eragon is an extra-ordinary book, written by Christopher Paolini when he was 15 years old. That's young. I wish I could write like he does, with so much description, and such exciting plots. I love how he though up the name Eragon, from Dragon, and made the D E(the next letter in the alphabet), and I tried making short stories with words and changing the first letter with the next letter in the alphabet, and it really sounds good! Christopher Paolini is an excellent writer and I hope everyone in the world would please themselves and read this book!

I think this book is BETTER than Eragon. Don't get me wrong- Eragon IS perfect, but Eldest... It's perfect! Wait, that's the same thing! Let's just say that they're both perfect, but Eldest has more amazing twists. Eragon is a rider. Murtaugh saves him, but later Galbatorix (the evil, wants-to-rule-everything-and-is-doing-a-good-job-at-it person) forces him to swear in the ancient language (which no one can lie in, or break a promise) to obey him. And, I'm sorry for spoiling it- Murtaugh is Eragon's older brother!

Believe me, or believe me not! All will be revealed when you read this longer-than-Eragon book. It's longer, but it's perfect-er, believe me, or believe me not, all will be revealed! Read this excellent sequel to Eragon (and I mean NOW!) ^^

Eragon by Christopher Paolini is a magical book and absorbs you in this wonderful world of magic and dragons.

The story is nothing special and i'm sure many others novels like this will have similar plots of revolting against the dictatorship and how a young boy is the man behind this. But none the less this is a fantastic book. The characters are complex and you can never seem to have a certain opinion. Eragon, will make you feel he is brave and worthy, but other times will be naive and rash. Brom, will one moment be this kind, wise old man and the next, a devious and tricky man who betrays people. There is Murtagh, who appears stubborn and uncaring, but has fantastic bravery and fighting skills and is a worthy ally to have despite being the son of the man who betrayed the dragon riders.
The whole world of Alagaësia is so very vividly described and everything is portrayed so well you clearly imagine the whole book inside your head. The world also seems so real and is a joy to read.

Overall, this is a fantastic book and i'm will certainly devour the second book in the Inheritance Cycle.

Though this book obviously borrowed many things from Tolkien's Lord of the Rings, it is still a good read. :) Paolini definately has a lot of talent, and I did enjoy reading this book. This is definately a must for young readers/authors.

I do think he could've been a little more original, but that's okay. And he did something in which I'm very happy of: he actually admitted that he did borrow things from other stories, but you know what else he did? He gave credit to those authors too. It's okay to borrow ideas from other authors as long as you give them credit. :) That's only one of the reasons why I like Paolini. Can't wait to read his next book. :D

It all starts with a stone. Or rather what appears to be a stone but actually turns out to be an egg. A dragon egg. When the stone hatches into a egg Eragon finds himself unprepared for a whole different kind of world. He leaves his home after his surrogate father is brutally killed with Brom, the local storyteller. And so his journey begins.

The book is well-written. My only problem with the book is that it is a bit cliche. And it bears a marked resemblance to the Lord of the Rings. But the adventures and the good writing make it well worth the read.

This is a good book I read it in 2004. It's a boy named Eragon i think who gets a "gem". Later he finds out it's a dragon's egg. When shes older Eragon tries to ride her but unfortunately for him her back shreds the skin off his legs. lol. He makes friends with this old rider who is a person who owns a dragon. I think his name was Brom. Anyway they find an unconcious creature and take her to her home. Eragon later must duel a spirit of some kind.
