‘I Love School!’ by Philemon Sturges, illustrated by Shari Halpern, is a simple, but engaging story about a typical school day. From taking the bus to talking with friends, on to play time, creative time, recess, counting, reciting the alphabet, feeding the class pet, eating lunch, and reading time, there is something for everyone! The kids in the story love their teacher, and they express this as they enjoy each of the activities they do with her throughout the day.

The front and back of the book are full of interesting facts about school-related topics, such as that a pencil will write in zero gravity, upside down, and underwater, or that the average child in America will wear down 730 crayons by the time they turn 10 years old. It is a nice book about loving school, appreciating one’s teacher, and knowing how to enjoy the school day.
