‘How Do Kids Make Money?: A Book for Young Entrepreneurs’ by Kate Hayes, illustrated by Srimalie Bassani, is a great read for young people who are looking to make a few extra dollars to help purchase items they’re interested in, save for the future, or to help donate to worthy causes. While there are so many options for what kids can do to earn some extra cash, the book enlightens readers about a handful of these opportunities, from selling lemonade or cookies to helping out around someone’s yard, watching pets or plants, decorating for holidays, and more.

The illustrations are cute and relatable, and there are adorable quips about why doing something one way won’t be a great choice, but why doing it another way will put one on the road to success. The book is full of tips, resources, and plenty of ideas to get anyone thinking about what great ways there are to lend a hand and make some money while doing so.

Some of the later pages of the book show how to work out a budget and keep track of one’s money. All in all, the book lends a better understanding of the intricacies of having a job, holding on to it for the future, and making money to boot.
