When Harriet's sister offers to fix a rebellious curl, the three of them launch into a series of outrageous, hair-raising schemes to tame Harriet's wayward ringlet. Despite their best efforts, though, two, three, four, and still more curls break loose. Soon the yard and the house are a wreck, poor Harriet is exhausted, and her head is covered with curls. Dawn Stewart's rollicking, boisterous tale, vividly brought to life by Michael White's brilliant and quirky illustrations, will entertain young readers while helping them to see that the root of our problems is sometimes all in the way we look at them.

Poor Harriet! Her curly hair is not doing what it is supposed to (I've been there) and her siblings decide to help her tame her hair. Each page gets a little more crazy and more of Harriet's curls keep popping out! This is a fun story with very colorful illustrations and basic counting thrown in. Young readers will be engaged with the simple text and fun pictures. This would be a fun read aloud in any young classroom.
