GOOD DOG SCHOOL is a cute early reader about supporting friends and doing your best. Bob Dog is about to graduate from Good Dog School, but first, he has to tap dance, sit and stay, and bake muffins on a stage in front of everyone. He is worried about how he will do, but his friends have some great advice. Once he thinks about their advice, he is able to do his best on stage and earn his graduation.

What I loved: This will work well for fans of the show, who will enjoy seeing the snippets and seeing their favorite characters. As an early reader, it includes larger font to aid in early word recognition, as well as somewhat simpler sentence structure. This helps with making those early connections and helping children begin to read. The story itself is cute and features great friends, helping each other as they are able with advice and support. Bright colors add to the appeal around the smaller images of key characters.

What left me wanting more: As a small thing, the words are harder to read against some of the busy and vivid backgrounds. It may have been helpful to keep them white with black font as other early readers do, but this definitely adds a lot of color!

Final verdict: Fans of the show will enjoy this early reader featuring their favorite characters helping a friend and achieving something great (graduation!).
