The summer after their freshman year, Bee, Tibby, Lena and Carmen go their separate ways once again, but eventually, the Traveling Pants help them remember that even though they're not together, they're never alone. Fans will slip right back into this comfortable, familiar story the way they slip into a well-loved pair of jeans. The four heroines' adventures are up to the standard of the other three books and their different--but all lovable--personalities come through loud and clear in Brashares' bold, honest writing. Another satisfying and fun entry in the treasured Traveling Pants series.

Phenomenal...really. Books don't often blow me away, most are just quite pleasant to read, but this one is the only exception besides anything by Stephenie Meyer.

I am not comparing Brashares to Meyer, because there is no comparison there. For me, Stephenie will always come out superior.

But Ann's book is not that far behind Stephenie's. This is my favorite book out of the whole series. (The first one is ok, but they just keep getting better and better.) I think this one is where the characters learned the most about themselves. (I am very big on well-rounded characters.)

Also, the little lessons they learned were really quite inpirational. And then the ending - nothing would have fit any better. It was the perfect way...not all the ends were tied up, leaving somethings for you to imagine for yourself, but most of them were pretty much resolved.

Great read - definitely on the top of my list.

Forever in Blue Review

Four best friends are spending one last summer together after high school, but the perfect summer they planned turner out to be filled with drama, and anything but relaxing. Written by Anne Brashares, this book has a genre of realistic fiction and the point of view is in third person. The book starts off with the four girls packing for their separate trips, and they are solemn about the thought that it is their last summer together and they arent even going to see each other. The plot then moves to Bridget in Turkey and how she is falling for another man and hes married. Tibby and Lena also struggle with relationships while Carmen is off at a performing arts class, trying to discover herself. The climax is when Kostos, Lenas ex-boyfriend, reappears from Greece to America, unexpectedly, just as Lena starts to get over him. In the end all the problems are resolved but youd have to read the book to find out the details.
Maybe because it was the fourth book in the series or possibly because the author had trouble starting the story, but I thought the slow beginning of this book was inexcusable. In the start of the book the story crept along at a painfully slow crawl, and at times I wanted to put the book down, but Im glad I persisted with the story. It turned out that this book got greater and more suspenseful by the page. Once I finished with the book I dept wanting to read more, but all good stories must eventually end. This book had a total of 375 pages, and I thought it was a negative aspect because the size is intimidating. Also because of the amazing characterization I felt like I knew all of the characters extremely well by the time I completed the book.
Overall this book was filled with adventure, suspense and humor. I believe this book is meant for female readers who enjoy teen realistic fiction. Also I suggest that readers read the rest of the series because they are just as good as Forever in Blue, or maybe even better. Thank you to Ann Brashares for writing such a great book.

I loved this book. It was so fun to read just like the ones before it!!! Any teenage girl should read Ann Brashares Traveling Pants series because chances are they'll love (much like i did)

The only thing i was disapppionted about was the ending. It seemed to end kind of abruptly and didnt have a lot of conclusions to things (i.e. how did the relationships end up????). But it ends in a good way and keeps you thinking on what could happen....

But overall (and really OVERALL) the book was awesome. I love reading the different stories for each girl.

PANTS=LOVE!!!!

I really enjoyed this book and im sure you will too.

If youv'e read the first three books then you'll have to read this one. it's not as good as the ones before it but if you don't read it the others won't make as much sense.

It's about four best friends who find a pair of pants that fit them all even though they're all different shapes. Now after three summers with the pants the girls are finally splitting up. Going over seas, colleges and all of those things but do they need the pants to help them stay together?

READ IT!!

The fourth installment of the Sisterhood series, this book had some expectaions to live up to... I liked it, however I did not love it as much as the previous novels. It picks up in the summer after Lena, Carmen, Bridget, and Tibby's first year in college. I felt as though the author ran out of things to write about and just put anything in, but it was nonetheless entertaining. Perhaps others will enjoy more than I did and I encourage you to give it a chance, you never know, you might think it's the best one yet!

Since the last time I shared the pants with the Sisterhood in the third book "girls in pants". I was left on the edge of my seat and waiting for more. Then Forever in Blue came out and I think it made me and many girls happy. But as I read through the ending. I was a little disappointed, Ann Brashares writing is very good but the ending made me feel sad. I couldnt believe how a year in college had changed them all. Everyone seemed so distant and different as i read the book. This book took me by surprise. I do have to say it was good, the hole concept of getting them back together. But overall I expected something else and was not satisfied with the ending. I cried and laughed with them. Yet i didn't seem to take it all so well. I think that many fans will enjoy it but will be surprise by how the book turned out. I do hope their is another one. Because it still I think left strings loose.

Forever In Blue is the fourth and, I believe, final installment in Ann Brashares' popular Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series. I myself have loved each of the previous books in the series, and I'm sure many of you have, too.

This fourth book was slightly disappointing. Sure, it was great; I doubt Ann Brashares is capable of writing a bad book! However, I didn't think the ending tied up enough loose ends, considering there will probably not be any more books in the series. It left some loose ends, which is fine if you're planning on a sequel...but not so much for the last book. But perhaps that's just a matter of personal taste. And it's not like everything was left dangling, but not everything was tied up, either. I also missed the presence of a couple of familiar characters--for the most part, the girls' families and significant others weren't as present in this book as I would have liked. I especially missed Bridget's boyfriend, Eric. I was also disappointed that Carmen's relationship with Win didn't work out (this is revealed early on), and I felt that some of the new characters weren't as realistic as the old (Carmen has a friend, Julia, who didn't seem as real as she should have, for example).

However, it was exciting to find out what comes next for the girls of the Sisterhood. It's the summer after their first year of college. Now being apart is not just a summer thing; it's an all-the-time thing. Lena is spending her summer working on her artwork, and she meets a guy--but she can't forget about Kostos (I missed Kostos in this book...even though he made mistakes, he was a favorite of mine). Carmen goes with her actress friend, Julia, to a theater festival in Vermont. Bridget goes on an archaeological dig in Turkey. The destination itself wasn't what I would have expected for her, but something readers will connect to past books does happen--she falls for an older guy. This time, however, she has a boyriend (Eric) at home. I really didn't like this part of the book. It didn't seem completely like the Bridget I feel I've come to know in the past three books. Tibby stays in New York, and is having some problems with Brian, her boyfriend. This felt a lot more realistic than Bridget's problems. I missed seeing as much of Tibby's family and Brian as in the previous book, though...

Fans of the series will be glad to read this book, but it's not for those new to the Sisterhood. It's an enjoyable read, even if it didn't quite meet my high expectations! It was still well-written and full of great characters (even if a few were missing), and certainly worth reading.

To be honest, I felt like FOREVER IN BLUE start off rather slowly and depressingly, but in fact the novel is so astounding and fitting for the final book in this amazing series that I am still reeling from reading it.

The SeptembersCarmen, Tibby, Bridget, and Lenahavent really gotten together since the summer before they each went their separate ways to college. Now, its the summer after their freshman year of college and once again theyre apart, though together in spirit. Still, though, each girl has her own mistakes to make and lessons to learn.

Tibby is taking a summer screenwriting course at NYU. At the same time, she takes a big step forward in her relationship with Brian&with consequences that shatter their old ideas of almost blind love. Lena opts for an art studio class at RISD, where she develops a crush on the intense, incredibly talented artist Leo and asks herself whether she has, in fact, actually moved on from Kostos.

Carmen has tagged along with her college friend Julia to a theater camp Julia is excited to attend. In a move completely unlike the invisible background person shes become over the course of the year, Carmen tries out for a highly esteemed part in a play&and gets it, much to Julias dissatisfaction. Finally, Bee is on an archaeological dig in Turkey, where she has feelings for her older, married professor and tries to learn how to miss someone and remember to have a home.

The ending of FOREVER IN BLUE is bittersweet and excellent. Its realistic, touching, and satisfying, all at once. All the years weve loved these four girls, here is one last time to see them mature and learn how powerful their bond with one another is. Its a bond that can outlast anything, even time and distance, and that is what makes this series so special.
