The ending was the best part for me.
I love the new Tally. Being the last special Special, I loved how she makes use of it. She and David will be the New smoke nemesis. David and Tally will be the ones to stand in the way of anyone who tries to destroy nature. I really think it's cool.
This book was the perfect ending to the uglies series. I liked that Scott westerfeld didn't end it as a happily ever after story where the new smoke was free to do whatever they want (which will then eventually turn them to rusties and the whole cycle begins again).

The next thing to do now is to read Extras.

Tally is now a cutter,a special group of special circumstances. they are feared because of their fast reflexes adn special senses. she has joined the people she has been fighting against. Her task is to find and destroy the new smokies, the people she has been trying to protect thoughout the trilogy. now she needst to get her brain damaged boyfriend to help her find new smokies, destroy it and finally be with him.
in trying to help her boyfriend out of new pretty town, she accidentaly starts a war against her town adn a new city, diego. now she has to stop the war and find a way to end what special circumstances has been doing, brainwashing people.
although i knew that book was going to end up that way, i felt disapointed because she does not endup with the person i wanted her to end up with.

Tally Youngblood, originally a bored "ugly," then a bubbleheaded "pretty" and now, a cruel "Special." And that's not all she's a special "special," a Cutter. Yeah, it's a little lame, but the story isn't that bad. It's a conclusion to the Tally part of the series. It's all about saving Tally's world that's made up of mad scientists and obediant pretties. Tally's world is shaken when old friends come back and her "special" mind's ideas are revised.

This is an ok book. Uglies is still the best book. The different technologies and different surgaries are cool, but this book gets a little complicated.

Special Circumstances. The words have sent chills down Tall's spine since her days as a repellent,, rebellious ugly. Back then the Specials were a sinister rumor, frighteningly beautiful, dangerously strong, breath-takingly fast. Ordinary pretties might live their whole lives without meeting a Special. But Tally has never been ordinary.

And now she has been turned into one of them: a superamped fighting machine, engineered to keep the uglies down and the pretties stupid.

The strength, the speed, and the clarity and focus of her thinking feel better than anything Tally can remember. Most of the time. One tiny corner of her heart still remembers something more.

Still, it is easy to tune that out-until Tally is offered a chance to stamp out the rebels of the New Smoke permanently. It all comes down to one last choice: listen to that tiny, faint heartbeat, or carry out the mission that she is programmed to complete. Either way, Tally's world will never be the same.

In this exciting conclusion to Scott Westerfeld's trilogy, Tally must face one of the biggest desicions of her life. In this well-written, thought rovoking, and engrossing futuristic trilogy, he has built a masterfully complex and vivid civilizatilon.

The entire trilogy is brilliant. Specials, the final book, is the best of all.

Tally is superstrong, superfast, supersmart, superbeautiful, superpriveledged... and yet something's missing. Why is her mind not icy-clear like the other Specials'? Why is it that when she's ordered to hunt down David like an animal, destroy her once-home the Smoke, and abandon Zane, she's conflicted?

While Uglies was great, Pretties interesting but somewhat superficial, Specials is absorbing, deep, and absolutely brilliant. It has the top spot on my bookshelf and I recommend it to everyone!

Liek the title said, i loved the book, better then the first 2, but sad to say the ending i didn't like.

I didn't liek taht Zane got worse, that he was crippled, that he ending up dying. That was wrong, and the author messed up big time with that.

If one of Tally's ex boyfriends had to die, why coudln't david? He was a useless Ugly. But that is my opinion.

The thing i loved the most, was the journey to the new smoke, i was surprised it was an actually village. Great twists, and really developed charactors.

This is the third and final book in the Uglies series. Tally Youngblood has now become Special, and works with her friend Shay for special circumstances. When one of her other friends is stolen by the new smoke, Tally seeks out her old boyfriend, who has had parts of his brain eaten away but is a bit better now. Shay and Tally break into the Armory, the place where weapons are stored in case of another war, to help the crims escape. Shay wants to follow a tracker they found to the new smoke, but Tally wants to stay with the crims. When Tally gets to the city, she is scheduled for despecialization, but she escapes with the help of Shay. Shay and Tally then fight off an attack form their own city and Tally realizes she has to go the city to make everything right again. As I mentioned above, this is the last book in the series, and it really made me absolutely want another book. While I thought things were tied up pretty good, I still like the series enough to want another. If this was the first one you picked up, definitely pick up the rest of the series because it was really good. I recommend this to everyone.

I must say that I enjoyed Specials quite a lot, much more than I did with Pretties. In Pretties, I thought Tally was too weak and a bit stupid, and that her relationship with Zane, but not David was kinda upsetting. But in Specials Tally has become literally super human, and can actually do things for herself. She has a cruel beauty that sets everyone on edge, and a superiority that might not just be in her head.

I think that although this book annoyed me with the characters not being able to think on their own free will, it truly made the entire thing better. If Scott Westerfled didn't use the bluntness of the characters names, then this book would of never of been that great. But he did, and this changed the course of this amazing book.

I think that this book has it all, the evil, the so called 'good', the super humans, jealousy, love (although it may not be that strong) and hover boards. Scott Westerfeld has worked magic into this book and it has come truly alive. But I am not happy with some of the ending, the part when Tally decides to stay special, it would of been cool if she become an Ugly once again.

Specials and the other books in the Uglies series is just awesome. I love the way that Scott Westerfeld has written these amazing books, and every single word will blow you away . I've borrowed Extras and just about to read it, and although it is about different characters, I know it will be just as good.
Good Points
-The ignorance of the characters annoy you, it works in the books favour
-I love the hover boards, it would be so cool!!

At long last the final installment in Scott Westerfeld's immensely popular UGLIES trilogy is out. Tally Youngblood, the independent and strong-willed protagonist, has undergone more mental and physical changes than she can count. Now, for one last time, she will change again.

Tally has been a Cutter, a special division of Special Circumstances, for several months now. Cruelly beautiful with enhanced reflexes and easily triggered tempers, everyone fears the legendary Specials. Tally and her friend Shay want to subdue the New Smokies, who are spreading a cure to the bubbleheadedness. However, when one of their own is taken by the Smokies, Tally and Shay decide to go another avenue: they will help Zane, Tally's mentally damaged boyfriend, escape from New Pretty Town. Hopefully he will help the Cutters find the location of the New Smoke.

But Tally's feelings towards Zane conflict with her Special mental programming. And being in the wild is causing her overly sharp senses to calm down a little. What's more, it turns out that she and Shay have started a war between New Pretty Town and the New Smoke, a city called Diego. Tally must battle her Specials programming and learn to "think" for herself again before she can put a stop to this unnecessary war and the brain lesions.

The UGLIES trilogy will appeal to both boys and girls, and this fantastic conclusion really wraps up why Scott Westerfeld is such a brilliant writer. SPECIALS has action, emotion, love, and forgiveness, and the ending gives you hope. They are still out there.
