During the summer Harry is attacked  by a dementor (a guard of Azkaban) and has to perform a patronum spell to save Dudleys and his own life.  When he gets home he gets a letter from the Improper Use of Magic Office saying he is expelled from Hogwart.  Later when the Dursleys go out, a group of wizards come to take Harry to headquarters. At headquarters he gets to catch up with his friends and he learns what he has been missing while at the Dursleys'.  Before Hogwarts starts again Harry has a trial to get back into school and all charges against him are raised and he gets to go back to Hogwarts.  The Ministry (ministry is like the government) assigns Dolores Umbridge to take place as the Defense of the Dark Arts teacher, but she is at Hogwarts mostly to make sure Dumbledore doesnt betray the Ministry.  Dolores Umbridge eventually takes Dumbledore's place as headmaster.  As this all is happening Harry keeps getting these strange dreams, which Professor Snape is trying to help him block out.  What will happen to Dumbledore?  Will Harry ever get to start a new life with his godfather Sirius Black?

I thought that this book was one of the best books i have ever read. I loved all of the action and the duels and especially harry potter. I highly recommend this book if you are looking for some non-stop duels and action. This book also features non-stop magic.

The fifth book was good, as are most harry potter books. In this one Harry has to deal with the OWLs and such. I don't want to give any of the book away, but it is an awesome book! with tons of trials for harry to go thru!

This one didn't surprise me as much as I hoped that it would. I've probably been reading too much fanfiction, but I can't help but think that Rowling gave a few too many clues out about OotP for me to be completely surprised. However, she redeemed herself with the character of Umbridge, who is so horribly awful that she is probably one of the best (and I mean that in the horrible, most annoying ways) characters in the series. She's one of the few characters I've ever truly, truly hated in all of my reading.

This book also has one of the best chapters ever written, called "Career Advice," and if you read it, you'll see why. I clapped, I really did.

In this, the fifth installment of the Harry Potter books, J.K. Rowling has indeed outdone herself!

In this book, Harry learns that Dumbledore has again organized the Order of the Pheonix, a group of elite wizards who battled Voldemort in his last power struggle. As in all the books, Harry must be clever and cunning while battling the forces of darkness with his friends! I loved this book more than any of the other ones, and I hope you will too.

The fifth book in the Harry Potter series proves to be the most detailed and action packed. In this installment, Harry finds himself to be at one with Lord Voldemart's (He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named) thoughts. Harry begins having prophetic dreams, which are later revealed to be Lord Voldemart's plans.

Harry also begins dating in this novel. His longtime crush, Cho,returns his affections. However, there's only one problem, Cho happens to be the former girlfriend of Cedric, Harry's friend who was murdered by Lord Voldemort. Harry may be able to make himself invisible, but even wizards have problems understanding members of the opposite sex.

While most of the characters are returning players in the series, we are introduced to Ministry of Magic undersecretary Dolores Umbridge, the phony and dangerous teacher who takes over the trusted Dumbledore's position.

Sirus Black, Harry's godfather, returns to help the Order of the Phoenix, but he is forced to remain inside his family home since he is a wanted criminal. Sirus's support gives Harry the closest thing to a family that he has ever had.

This fifth book in the series is the most detailed. While the media reports have toted the death of a "major player" to be the big story here, the real story lies within the clues that are dropped by the author. We finally learn the truth behind Harry's scar and why it throbs when Voldemort is near. We also learn why Professor Snape despises Harry's father so much as he sees how his father treated Snape when they were teens.

The much talked about death is handled carefully and realistically as Harry questions whether or not he'll be able to see his deceased friend again since ghosts like Headless Nick frequent Hogworts school. The author lets the finality of death sink into Harry's conscious as he realizes that his friend will not be coming back.

This book is a must for Harry Potter fans. While it is the longest book in the series, it does not disappoint the reader with its roller coaster ride ending and the heartbreaking, yet touching conclusion. J.K. Rowling has remained true to her characters as she has let them grow older while still maintaining their original personalities and integrity.

This book was really good I ready all fo the Harry Potter book so far and this was the best yet and I can't wait till the next one. I like all the books though there about a little boy named Harry whose parents are killed by a evil wizard and and he has to go live withh so muggle family members who don't like him so ends up goin to school at a place called Hogwarts and in the books he meets a lot of interesting peple and has some interesting adventures while learning how to be a wizard and trying to protect himself and others from Voldemort in this one he has to go and stay at a house with a couple of his friends because he is being put on trial for doing something he was not supposed to and he starts having these weird visions and it has to do with the one who must not be named and some of the adults have a secret group because they are trying to protect Harry and figure out what is going on and there is a women who goes around the school and she is checking up on how they doe things trying to make they school how they want it and making everyhting miserable but the kids play tricks on her and everthing else. These are some great books and you should definetly read them and alos see the movies to because those are also good.
