THE BOOKWORM CRUSH is an absolutely charming romantic comedy with all sorts of booklover homages. Amy McIntyre is @redheadrecs and she has had a crush on her BFF Viv's surfer brother-like friend, Toff, for a very long time. Amy is entering a social media contest to meet an other of choosing, and she is aiming for an author who hasn't done any appearances or signings in something like 20 years, so basically a unicorn.

When she is completing the first contest task, she commits kniffiti and ends up running away in the dark from sirens. Luckily, Toff catches her and gives her a ride, pretending to be her boyfriend when they are pulled over by the police. Knowing how confident Toff is and how great he is at competing, Amy asks him to be her coach for the contest.

Together, they set out to win, with Toff's ideas stretching her out of her bookworm comfort zone. At the same time, Amy convinces him to try some new books (and movies based on books) that take Toff out of his own comfort zone- beginning with Pride & Prejudice. In the meantime, they find themselves being shipped online as an OTP.

However, Toff, in particular, has a lot of hang-ups about romance and relationships as well as some growing up to do with regards to competing/injuries. Soon, their relationship seems to parallel Pride & Prejudice (Amy's OTP) in ways that make this book too adorkable to handle (in the best way).

While this was very predictable, it was equally adorable and fun. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a new romantic comedy, and particularly to avid romance readers who will understand the lingo and love this new take on romance. This is a fluffy feel-good read that is definitely worth picking up.
