As the battles progress, the Othersiders become more organized and ...suicidal? Joy can't help agree that there's more going on than they're led to believe. A Folk Mage is leading the Othersiders, but it's a different one from the Folk Mage Joy has become accustomed to seeing. With an unlikely ally that's hard to trust and a powerful enemy that wants Joy dead, how can she pull out a win for the Hunters and protect the citizens of Apex?
I loved the magic, suspense, and fantasy elements that this story had. I also enjoyed how loyal Joy's hounds are. They're more like family to Joy. I also liked the way Joy and Josh's relationship is trying to rekindle rather than jumping right back into things.
Final Verdict: This was a great conclusion to the Hunter Series that draws out every emotion as you read. I would recommend this series to fans of fantasy, magic, and monsters.
