In an Arabian city lives two brothers. One has seven sons with acres of land and endless amounts of money. The other has seven daughters and is cursed and called forsaken by God because of only being given daughters as offsprings.
Buran, the youngest daugther of the later, goes off to earn money for her family by disguising herself as a man and goes off to the big cities to become a wealthy merchant. She later develops a strong relationship with one of her best customers, the prince, but finds herself having to lie and conceal her true identity. The prince on the other hand, has some suspicions, and goes out to try and find out who this merchant friend of his is, with sneaky plots and devious tricks.
Rather short book, but very entertaining.
