Hilariously funny and insanely enjoyable, I laughed out loud at every turn of Emma’s “Eat, Pray, Love” journey through Scotland. If you are a fan of Outlander, and you have a sense of humor, you must read this book!
Emma Sheridan is a charming heroine, brave enough to sell everything she owns (even her hair straightener) to live out her dream of traveling through Scotland in the hopes of meeting her very own Jamie Fraser. But her journey isn’t always about the elusive Highland Warrior of her dreams. At the root of the story, it’s about a journey of self-discovery that ultimately leads Emma right back where she started, smarter, more fulfilled, confident and eager for her future.
The author transports the reader to a beautiful Scotland, full of ancient history and lovely, charming (and never overkilled) accents in her accurate portrayal of the countryside, cities and Highlands. Honestly, KC Dyer makes you want to pack your bags to go looking for your very own kilted, Jack Findlay/James Alexander Malcolm MacKenzie Fraser as you explore all the mysteries of Scotland.
I enjoyed every moment of this fun, light read and I didn’t want it to end. I wanted more. The ending felt a bit rushed, even though it was the ending I was hoping for. I would have liked to follow Emma’s story a little longer.
If you’re looking for a break from your usual genre picks, you will absolutely enjoy this funny, fast-paced romance with its delightfully quirky characters.
