The second and final book in The Perfectionist duology by Sara Shepard does not disappoint. Reminiscent of the Pretty Little Liars, this duology is perfect for the summer, a day out in the sun, or curled up in an air-conditioned room with a blanket. It is an easy book to read in one day or over a nice weekend.

The Good Girls adds more depth and complications to the story set in The Perfectionists. The girls’ friendships are strengthened and tested. They don’t know who they can trust and neither does the reader. Sara Shepard’s writing style is fun and easy to read. There are lots of twists and turns in the plot. Some are predictable, which for this reader it gave me a “Whoo hoo!” I figured it out moment. Yet some of the twists in the last half of the book came as a fun surprise.

I love the fact that this book is tied up in two books. It gives the story a fast pace and things aren’t drawn out. And for this summer time reader, I like light stories with mystery and twists. I am always on the look out for the perfect vacation or beach read. The Perfectionist and The Good Girls are it. It has the perfect blend of friendships, revenge, thriller motifs, and good ole “I Know What You Did Last Summer” horror flick fun.

Fans of Sara Shepard will LOVE this duology. Fans of Pretty Little Liars have to pick this one up. If you are a TV fan and are watching Scream or looking forward to Scream Queens- this might be the book for you.
Good Points
Fun thrill ride with Pretty Little Liars feel
