Ironskin is supposed to be a re-telling of Jane Eyre, steampunk style.By steampunk,I thought that it would mean more action and cool machines, but trust me,if you're thinking like that, then you're going in the wrong direction. But then again, it IS a re-telling of Jane Eyre. But I think I liked Jane Eyre's Mr.Rochart way better than Ironskin's one.He was just plain creepy. -_- As usual,I got overly excited with the gorgeous cover and blurb and when I saw the word Fey . I practically started jumping.Though it was not THAT bad the disappointment was like a real blow to me.It makes me so upset when I have to write a review feeling neutral when I've been so excited about reading the book all along. To me, it's a bit of like a mild version of a horror movie( or even better,Frankenstein with an eerie romantic twist) than a YA Steampunk novel.I come to this conclusion from Mr.Rochart's personality and profession. But other than that, the story was great.I even appreciated the "Frankenstein with a romantic twist".What bothers me is that it starts out really well so it's easy to get into, but becomes bland as it stretches out towards the end which turns out abrupt and confusing. It looked as if the author was rushing to end the story when she realized that she had crossed her word limit. But it's worth to be appreciated because of its absolutely unique and original plot and the same thing goes for the characters as well.

Recommended as a borrow from friend material unless you want to buy the book for its pretty cover and rated 3.5 out of 5 stars for the following reasons:
-1 star for the ending
-0.5 star for the way the storyline stretched out.
Good Points
Plot and characters.
