The Memory Keepers Daughter by Kim Edwards is the story of a man, David, who makes a life changing decision the night his children are born. He delivers his wifes twin babies, but both babies where not as perfect as he would have wanted. His baby daughter had Downs Syndrome. His response was to hand the baby off to the nurse and have her take the baby to an institute. He lies to his wife and tells her the baby was still born. This choice changes his life forever and not in a good way it tares apart his marriage, family, and career.
This book was very interesting and the topic was so intriguing. Throughout it you are asking your self How could he do that! At times the book seemed to drag on a bit, but when I got to an important part I couldnt put it down. I was dying to see what peoples reactions would be and how they were going to handle the situation when the truth finally came out.
I would give this book about a 3 because the situation was very intriguing, but some parts were kind of dull. I still cant believe that he would give away his own daughter no matter what was wrong with her!
