Green Angel, a book about a young girl who loses her entire family in a fire. After losing her family, Green suddenly finds herself alone and seemingly futureless. In her grief she cuts her hair, tattoos her skin, and changes her name to Ash. Facing starvation, hordes of looters (other children whose familes were lost to the fire), and her ever mounting grief, she meets friends in unlikely places who help to discover the Green she was meant to be.
Green Angel was shorter then most fiction novels today, but was one of the most inspiring stories I've read in a while. The characters represented different emotions and feelings perfectly and the story line was sweet and resolved itself towards the you that *happy* feeling you get after reading a tragic story that ends well. All in all, Green Angel is a great read for anyone who wants to fill a short time with a wonderful story.
