This book was a very cute, teen novel.
Jan is your typical high school student, with an IT girl bestfriend., tiffany, who seeems to prefer older men.
At first, when Jan meets Josh, she didnt think it was a big deal, up until a few days after she suddenly began to get excited around him, as they would semi flirt (:
And the best part is, Jan gets to babysit his little sister, meaning she gets to see him even when theyre not in school.
As she faces a few misunderstandings, she ends up letting them take over her mind and not giving Josh an explanation to explain.
This book is realistic, funny, and very cute. I certainly enjoyed it, so i hope you consider giving this one a shot!

Jan Miller is a senior in high school who's convinced she in destined to lead the world's least fabulous life. From her best friend, who is an official New York It Girl, to her parents, who are way to embarrassing, to her crushes (who always seem to be in the right place at the wrong time), Jan never feels that she's got it. Her college application deadlines are looming and her French homework is taunting her. And when it comes to love, Jan's destiny appears to be as tragic as a Greek play. When a romantic Shakespeare scene-reading with her crush turns humiliating, Jan feels more starcrossed than Juliet. She never seems to say the right thing around guys, unlike her best It Girl friend, who knows the moves and lines to catch an older, adorable, sophisticated boyfriend. If only Jan could write and star in her own reality . . .
But in spit of feeling that the forces of the universe have it in for her, Jan's about to learn that in lilfe and romance, being a Not It Girl has some major rewards.
This was a pretty good book that was well written. The whole story is about the main character Jan (whose name is pronounced Yahn) trying to get with Josh. It wasn't exactly my thing. Overall it was a good plot, but sometimes along the way I found myself a little annoyed by Jan's best friend. While trying to act more mature, she just looked so much more immature. Plus, Jan herself didn't always make the smartest moves. I liked Jan's little "inserts" of what she would like to happen, I thought they were entertaining and lightened the book a bit more.
Confessions Of a Not It Girl was a page turner, and kept you wanting to know what happened next.

This book was laid out like the classic movie love story. Girl like guy, guy likes girl, complications happen, happily ever after. I thought this was a really cute book. I like that in the end she finally got the guy she wanted because to me they sounded like the would be cute together. This book was entertaining and funny. It was the classic love story for high schoolers. I have to say that while reading this book I felt bad for Jan because she had to see Josh with a girl that he had feelings for for a while and I was almost relieved for her in the end when they finally got together. Its was a bit corny, but adorable nonetheless. I give this book kudos for humor and wit and for pulling together the classic teen love story.

Ending made me scream in pain! My parents came rushing into the room because they thought I was dying then were pissed off because I was just finished my book. Melissa Kantor is THAT good of an author that she made me cry at the end of this book. I lent it to my friend too and she said she cried at the end. I so highly reccommend this book because it is SO good! You will love it! I guarentee! The whole book makes you keep reading, but I advise to get it from a library if you can becuase you will be reading it for a day and a half, its way worth the money but save the planet. =D

Yahn has a problem. She cant seem to find a boyfriend, plus her "it" best friend has had loads of them already! When Yahn meets one that she thinks might just be the one, it doesn't look like it will end up the way she plans. They have a fight, make up, but then everything starts getting awkward. Plus, they were never girlfriend, boyfriend in the first place! Will her dream come true? Or will she just have to keep searching? Find out in "Confessions of A Not It Girl" by Melissa Kantor.
This wasn't one of the best books that I have read. Almost all of it was about boys and didn't really have a main plot other than Yahn getting a boyfriend and about her best friends boyfriend (who thinks shes 21). It was still pretty fun to read though, it was light and different.

I liked this book it was a good book for teenage girls although this book is more of a fun read book because it talks about the life of a senior in High School and the social and romantic aspects of her life. The end of the book was a wonderful ending and i think Mrs. Kantor did a very well at writing it.

I don't know why, because I usually don't prefer books such as these, but this book just intrigued me. I loved the plot line, however cliched it sounded, and one wonderful thing about it was that Jan, the protagonist, wasn't afraid to admit that she had a fault: that she was crazy jealous of her best friend. That part captivated me, and held me in, and got me through the whole book. Just Jan's discoveries about self-worth and life were amazing, and the romance was completely cute.
I'd say go for it, when reading this book. I found it a little hard to read at first, but I forced myself to and never regretted it :)

I thought that this book was really amazing. Jan was an great lead character... full of witty one-liners and sarcasm that was very entertaining. Jan's It Girl best friend was amusing and a good foil to Jan... highlighting all her qualities (good and bad). I identified with Jan because we are the same age (about 17) and I am going through a lot of what she was going through in her life.

omg, how to sum this book up. it was so cute and real seeming i almost felt like it was me in the story. i loved the plot, of a girl who wasnt a cool as everyone else. and doubted herself in to thinking that she couldn't get the guy. i feel like that all the time. i thinkevery teenage girl should read this becuase it gives you confidence that you can get the guy you want and that it's not impossible. this is a wonderful book.
