Alice's first experiences in school were not very pleasant, she came to school dressed up in weird costumes and was bullied because she was different. Sadly, this happened when she was in kindergarten and her parents decided to homeschool her. Who knows, maybe if she had stuck it out she could have had a more normal life, but then we wouldn't have the eccentric moments that make up "Alice, I Think." The book is about Alice, her strange parents, and a list of life goals that Alice wants to achieve. In the story she tries to accomplish all of her goals but at the same time she gets bullied and laughed at, she does learn some new things though, and it helps her in her quest to become more of a normal teenager. It is quite a funny book though, and a great read for anyone who has felt like they don't fit in

Alice, has a very outlandish upbringing. This story follows Alice's life from her unfortunate experience in first grade after coming to school convinced that she is a hobbit,(which then resaults in homeschooling) to when she reaches high school and decides to attend school again.

What really annoyed me about this book is how Susan Juby portrayed homeschoolers, she made them seem to all have mental and social disabilites which from my personal experiences as a homeschooler is not in the least true.

Although this book did have some laugh out loud moments, for the most part I didn't enjoy it very much, I found that I just couldn't relate to Alice at all. But, if you are looking for a surreal, abnormal look at life then I guess this book would be the one.

It's not often that I don't really like a book, but this one I really didn't enjoy that much. I thought it was kind of boring and negative, especially because this is how the main character Alice is like. Yes, some parts are funny, but only if you love to critize society and people. I really didn't understand the plot, which was mostly about Alice and how she tries to work through her problems and wierd family and tries to dress all seventies, but it just doesn't work out. I forced myself to finish this book because I hate not reading a book until the end. But, really, I do not recommend this book, unless you want something to fall asleep to.
