The story:
A Viking, Liv has earned her shield and is set to take her place as a shield maiden when two deaths set off a chain of events that will change Liv’s life forever. When Fenris Wolf arrives in her village to revenge the death of his father he cut’s Liv down and leaves her for dead. Desperate she calls to the gods, and Skuld, weaver of the future, answers her pleas. With the help of Skulds magic Liv sets forth to avenge her loved ones and village.
What I loved:
I really enjoyed the characters, the relationship that slowly built between Liv and Calder and also the father/daughter bond she developed with Calder’s father. I also enjoyed the Norse mythology and it’s been a long time since I’ve read a story about Vikings and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
What was just okay:
There were places where the pacing of the story slowed right down for a longer than I would’ve liked, but all in all it was an enjoyable read with a strong female lead.
Final Verdict:
This story was filled with heart and was highly entertaining.
