'Fiver Finds Home' by Jill Bugbee, illustrated by Jennifer Davison, is a story of friendly Fiver, a blue giraffe who is half the normal size of other giraffes. As a result of these traits that make him "different," he doesn't see how he fits in with the other giraffes, and he journeys out on his own, discovering the beautiful landscape of Africa until he finds someone to care for him and take him across the ocean to a new home in Savannah, Georgia. It's cute how he goes from the African savanna to Savannah, Georgia, showing that even though he is finding his purpose and what makes him special, some things stay at least somewhat the same.

Fiver's courage and eagerness to explore and find himself make him a great guide for young readers. He shows through his journey that he doesn't give up, and the artwork does a nice job of showcasing his struggle to find himself as well as the outcomes of his time spent doing so.

It was also fun and educational to learn more about different types of animals and the names for them when they are found in groups. For children and adults who like a heartwarming, sincere story, 'Fiver Finds Home' is a great choice.
