A worthy edition to the dystopian shelf! Gritty, well-imagined, a plot that gives both suspense and romance ... an enjoyable read for the dystopian fan!
Good Points
Loved the world! It starts off in the underground world of a post-apocalyptical New York City. I love that the society has its own culture and rituals. I also loved the characters, especially Fade. If you're going into this book wanting a touchy-feely romance or emotion bleeding across the page, you'll be disappointed. But if you love a gritty, well-told story with characters you have to work a bit to get to know, this is for you. Because speaking their minds, or even having their own emotions, is forbidden in the Enclave, it's hard for Deuce and Fade to open up completely to the reader, but I loved the warrior in Deuce and the way Fade (and her experiences throughout the book) soften her in all the best ways. Can't wait for the sequel.
