Elephant Island is a book with a message that everyone needs to hear. Arnold, the elephant, ends up on the smallest island that is just big enough for him to stand on after his boat is destroyed by the sea. A mouse comes along and tries to rescue him, but Arnold breaks the boat when he steps in. Arnold could have given up at this point, but he turned the broken boat into an expansion of the island, that he and mouse can enjoy together. As more friends joined the fun, Elephant's island grew and grew. When the sea once again destroys all of Arnold's hard work he comes up with a new plan to keep them all together.

My favorite part of the book was the message of perseverance and thinking outside the box. Throughout this book, there were so many engaging illustrations. I appreciated the little details like the ferris wheel with the birds and the tube slide into the water. The message in this book will encourage readers of all ages not to give up when things don't go as planned.
Good Points
Engaging illustrations paired with a story of creativity and perseverance.
