Dig Dig DInosaur follows a group of children on an expedition to find some dinosaur bones. As they dig they encounter various bones and learn about the dinosaurs to which the bones belong. The adventurers are on a hunt to find the biggest dinosaur that they can find.

What I liked: It can be hard to find a nonfiction book that a younger audience will enjoy and be able to follow. I was quite happy with this book because it was creatively done and informs children about dinosaurs in a manner that they will understand. I love the flaps that cover the dinosaurs and how they are different shapes.

This book is written with words that young children can understand, the words that they don’t yet know are easy enough to explain. I like that no page has more than a few words so you don’t lose the listener’s attention. I appreciate that the images in this book tell the story so even if younger kids do not understand what is being read they can follow along with the illustrations.

Final Verdict: Dig Dig Dinosaur is a book that children ages 2 and up will greatly enjoy. They will love imagining themselves as the adventurers in this story and enjoy flipping the flaps to see what they have encountered. Adults will enjoy reading this book out loud to a young audience and the plus is this book comes with a free stories-aloud audiobook.
