What I liked:
Remember those excellent magical mice that helped Cinderella get dressed for the ball? This novel expands what we know about them. Meet Delphine, a talented seamstress mouse who lives in the Cindrella household. Delphine is a brave, feisty, fierce, and likable heroine. Unfortunately, Delphine knew nothing about her life before being adopted, and her only clue is a human-sized needle and the cloth she found. Delphine's creativeness gets her called to court to design a dress for the mouse princess, and she discovers more about the needle and sets out on a quest to find more about herself.
Final Verdict:
The enemy of the story is the rat King Midnight, who wants this special silver needle magic for himself. Delphine and her new nobleman friend Alexander learn about teamwork and relying on each other strengths to get through the quest. Delphine and the Silver Needle is an excellent middle-grade novel full of adventure and is a fantastic way to continue the magic we discover in the Cinderella tale.
