Today, I get to reveal the cover of Trisha’s NEW book from her second series: THE HISTORIANS. It’s another slam dunk, I can tell you that much. Ready to see it??? First, here’s a message from Trisha:

Years have passed since refugees from a ruined earth took to space, eventually terraforming a new system of planets. Science has not only made the leaps necessary to allow time travel, but the process engineered a strange side effect—predicting people’s one true love.

When Oz Truman, a fellow apprentice, discovers Kaia’s secret, he shows her the predicted trajectories that could result her from altering the history of ancient Egypt. They prove that if Kaia doesn’t ensure her Kindred dies as he’s supposed to, the effect on the present will be catastrophic.

But when Kaia notices Oz popping up in historical archives where he doesn’t belong, she suspects he has a secret of his own—and the conspiracy she uncovers breaks worse rules than traveling to ancient Egypt to meet a boy.
If Kaia’s experience with her one true love has taught her anything, it’s that no alteration to history comes without consequences. The Historians trained her to observe and record the past, but Kaia never guessed she might have to protect it—especially not from the people she trusts.
The Historians gives me the chance to bring my love of all things historical to the page.
My spare time is now spent reviewing television and movies, spending time with my large, loud, loving family, reading any book that falls into my hands, and being dragged into the fresh air by my dogs Yoda and Jilly.

The cover and synopsis are INTRIGUING! I love how she spins the future-Earth tale in a new direction than everyone else is taking.
The cover is appealing right away, powerful in image and rich in colour. And the time-changing theme is amazing, specially combined with Egypt. I’d love to read it! 🙂
First off, the cover is gorgeous! I love how the colors complement one another and blend. The hieroglyphics on the sides of the book make it mysterious and inviting, and the golden color hint at adventure. The structures and the pyramids bring the imagination to life and the moon shows thrilling danger. It makes one curious what the symbol on the girls wrist means and what path she is taking over the bridge. The watch, obviously, symbolizes time travel. Overall, the cover is wonderful.
The synopsis of the book itself is intriguing and I do love a good star crossed love. It brings excitement for what awaits and the obstacles Kaia will have to face. Just contemplating the end, which I think is the best and most infuriating part, makes you want to read it even more.

The Cover:
I’m not wild about the cover to be honest. I think the color scheme makes all of the details of the buildings blur if you’re too far away. Up close, I love the detail that was obviously put into the buildings, the pyramids in the background, the shine from the moon, and even the girl walking. At this moment my interest has been piqued wondering what’s on her wrist, and what all the detail really means, since it’s clearly important. So up close I LOVE IT, but from far away I wouldn’t see what it was about.
The Synopsis:
It almost seemed a little long. I don’t usually read about what a book is about, because I feel sometimes the synopsis gives too much away. (Example: if the main character is a vampire, and their love interest doesn’t know, but the audience knows because that was given away in the blurb, it becomes painstakingly boring to wait for the love interest to figure it out. See?) I’m kind of glad I read the synopsis, because it sounded interesting and very different from the norm that’s out in YA. Although, I feel like a bunch of the surprises have already been given away by the blurb.
