fantastic!

While I was afraid this book might read a little young for me with the characters all being under 15, that wasn't the case at all. I found them darkly compelling and adult in a terrifying world. LORD OF THE FLIES indeed. I'm eager to read the rest of this...

Catching Fire

I loved THE HUNGER GAMES, and I immediately picked up CATCHING FIRE to see where Katniss's story went next. While this was my least favorite of the trilogy, I still found the story compelling and heartbreaking. The arena in this book was particularly fascinating and terrifying!

Adored!

I found this book utterly charming from page one. Sophie cracked me up with her charm and wit, and I found her absolutely captivating and empathetic. Oooh, and that kiss. Oh my.

NEED the next one!

Oh how I loved HEX HALL. And I didn't know it was possible, but I loved DEMONGLASS even more! Sophie is my kind of heroine, with wit, cleverness, and a conscience. And the BOYS. I was firmly with the whole Archer thing, even knowing about The Thing, but . ....

Loved!

I can't think of another book that made me SMILE this much. ANNA AND THE FRENCH KISS had me giggling and swooning at the same time. The writing was fantastic, and the romance was pitch perfect. I am prepared to devour the next book.

loved it!!

I shamelessly traded a pair of fingerless mitts for this ARC, and I'm really, really glad I did. Here's a secret: I think about time travel a lot. Probably more than the average girl. (Probably not as much as Myra or her characters.) When it comes to...

Intriguing

I wasn't sure what to expect when I picked up RAISED BY WOLVES, but I was pleasantly surprised by the compelling writing, the intriguing characters, and the culture of the werewolves. I'll definitely be reading the next book to find out what happens.

Gorgeous

Maggie has a real gift with words. Her prose is magical and delicious. I loved her unique take on werewolf mythology and the eerie and frightening nature of their existence. I do wish there had been more focus on plot and conflict, though this hardly diminished...

Charming

I really enjoyed this! Lovely plot, characters, and voice. Typically, I'm not the right reader for epistolary novels; the structure tends to be a tension-killer for me. However, DARKER STILL charmed me both with its voice and premise. How much do I love haunted paintings and kissing...

Incredible

I wasn't sure how I'd feel about this one -- zombies aren't usually my thing -- but I ended up loving this book. It's much deeper and thoughtful than I'd expected.

Reapers beware!

I was really excited to read ANGELFIRE. I must admit some bias toward liking this: not only is this book with my imprint, but we share an editor, so I was eager to see what drew her toward this story. Here are my theories: ...

Monsters beware!

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC. We all know the story about Medusa, the snake-headed gorgon who Perseus killed. And how her gaze would turn someone into stone. Or do we? In SWEET VENOM, Medusa and...

On the list of books I love best.

I wanted this book in a serious way. I've been following Victoria's publishing journey for years now, and was thrilled when she got her deal. That was nearly two years ago! It's been a long wait for THE NEAR WITCH, but it's finally on its way. I was lucky enough...

Awesome!

Beth has created a truly frightening world aboard a spaceship, where nothing is what it seems. The book starts with a feeling of unease, with a family being frozen to take a 300-year trip across the universe, and then shifts to the future where Amy is awakened 50 years early....

Yarntastic.

You guys. I'm in love. With this story, the words, the characters, the setting. Yes, it's set in a woolen mill, so I was inclined to like it from the start, but one thing can't make me love a book this much, or make me giggle with delight when the...
