Tweak Growing up on methamphetamine is an incredible book. Nic goes through situations that are unimaginable but yet real. In the beggining of his life, during highschool, he was a very intelligent kid that had opportunities to any college he wanted. He thought some partying would be neccessary to "celebrate" his succes. But with the presence of drugs being in his life for a little too long, he couldn't control his addiction anymore. He goes into rehab and sobers up. But yet with the opportunity of using drugs right under his nose, he uses again and is right back where he started. Each time it repeats itself, it gets worse. It is harder and harder to overcome his addiction to the point where Nic has no hope. I believe Nic's purpose of the book was to persuade everyone to accept themselves and not let drugs get the best of you to make you feel like you are somebody. At first he thought he could get his life back together when he was ready, but towards the end, he know. He knew he would need help from anyone who would help him overcome such a struggle. Not many poeple would help Nic though. he has hurt so many people that meant so much to him because he couldn't handle the responsibility of others having trust in him. he always felt he wsn't good enough, thus, relying on drugs. This book has totally changed my mindset of drugs. As a high school student, there are kids who joke about cooking up meth or smoking crack, and after reading this book, I feel like it isn't even funny to joke about it. There are people in this world who are suffering an addiction to methamphetamines and there are others who think it isn't serious? I just think it is crazy how much one mans' life can change a whole mindset of a teenager in 300 pages. This book keeps you on your toes and makes you wonder what Nic's life is like now.
