"Ralph said, "Rain tomorrow." Burt said, "Barley needs it. You're covered with cinders, Ellis." Ralph thought that was funny. "That's funny." He laughed. "That's what we should call him-- Cinderellis." Burt guffawed."In this unusual spin on an old favorite, Cinderlla is a boy! He's Cinderellis, and he has two unfriendly brothers and no fairy godmother to help him out. Luckily, he does have magical powders, and he intends to use them to win the hand of his Princess Charming-- that is, Marigold. The only problem is-- Marigold thinks Cinderellis is a monster!

Gail Carson Levine is the author of "Ella Enchanted," a spirited retelling of the "real" Cinderella fairy tale and a 1998 Newberry Honor Book. In this fourth of her Princess Tales, Levine brings new life and new fun into a little-known tale and proves that determination, imagination, and kindness can carry the day.

I am constantly looking for new stories to read to my cousins and they are fans of fairy tales yet dont want to hear the classics. I loved Levine's work when I was younger and I saw her story over cinderellis. I knew that my cousins would love it and they have! It is now a favourite at our house!

She is such a good author! After Ella Enchanted, i started to read some more of her books and happened to trip on this one. I read it and found a funny twist to Cinderella in the end. A girl is about to marry but she met this boy, cnderellis, she likes, and cannot find him again. Her father says, whoever crosses the glass hill on a horse can marry his girl. So she puts grease on the hill so that every one slips. What she does not know is that Cinderellis is among the competitors...

I recomend this book to girls who like fairy tales and want a quick chapter book to read.

It's Cinerella with a great twist. Instead of a glass slipper it's a glass hill! Something new and fresh to read that still has that good old fashioned Cinderella touch of magic!

This book has a great twists, charecters, and story line!

What if Cinderella were a boy, with two mean step-brothers instead of step-sisters? You can find the answer by reading this book! Cinderellis (Ellis for short) wants to be an inventor, but his step-brothers just ignore him and call his inventions silly. But when Ellis gets a chance to live happily ever after by winning the hand of Princess Marigold, he take it. Now he has to find a way to climb a glass hill, or never be accepted by his brothers. Trust me, the book is a lot better than I made it sound with my poor description. Just take it from me and read this book, you wont be sorry you did.

Cinderellis and the Glass Hill is a version of the modern fairy tale, but in this story, Cinderella is Cinderellis, a guy, and he needs to climb a glass hill to marry Marigold, the princess. Cinderellis is an inventor who was always left out by his older siblings. Now he's using his inventions to climb a glass hill and get the three golden apples.

This was a cute story, about a reject boy and a reject princess who find love, though not in the expected way. I recommend it, it's really cute.

Cinderellis and the Glass Hill is about a boy named Ellis. He lived on a farm across from the Biddle castle. He always invented new things. One day the princess of Biddle was to get married. She was going to have golden apples, and sit upon a glass hill. The man who could climb the glass hill and reach the apple each time was the new prince. Ellis tried, thinking he would be able to sell the golden apples for money. Each time though something went wrong. Usually these books take after a fairy tale, but I don't think this one does. It was fun reading a book all about Fantasy!

She is awesome, that Gail Carlson Levine. Actually I think anyone who does a whole other twist on fairy tails is awesome, although this twist is . . . interesting. Whether you have read the original or have seen the Disney classic, Cinderella is a beautiful story.

This story is about a boy who is Cinderella- thus Cinderellis. He makes beneficial inventions and attempts to make it up a glass hill to get to the princess. I like this book because it's not like other fairy tales that deal with shallowness.

This book was very funny! It was about a boy who invents stuff. He also finds a new horse every midnight and a set of old armor. He uses his inventions, horse, and armor to climb up a glas hill so he can marry the princess. He plans to climb the hill sell the gold eggs and not marry the princess until he sees who she really is!
