BRITANNICA'S BABY ENCYCLOPEDIA is a collection of illustrated images on different topics about the world, such as plants, animals, the body, and shapes and numbers. The sections include multiple images on each page spread along with brief sentences that help convey key messages.

What I loved: This is a colorful collection of lessons targeted for young toddlers. Each section can be read on its own (which is great, because this is a hefty book!), and focuses on a particular topic. The information conveyed is very basic, which works well for the target age group. The topics are presented with brightly colored illustrations, often several to a page, along with key sentences that teach about the topic through examples. Diverse characters acting out colorful and detailed scenes gives young readers a lot to look at on each page. With the basics covered, this is a great starter for little ones to learn.

The font on each image is clear and easy to read aloud. Sound noises are written for some illustrations that help to add to the fun of reading. The pages are thin board book pages which will help little fingers to turn them independently and make for quite a sturdy book that can put up with little ones well.

What left me wanting more: As a small thing, while this is quite the extensive book, the size is a bit tough for little ones who will have trouble lifting it themselves and for caregivers, who don't wish to read all 71 pages at once (if you have a child who doesn't like stopping before the end).

Final verdict: BRITANNICA'S BABY ENCYCLOPEDIA is a great starter for young toddlers to learn about the world around them, including animals, numbers, and plants!
