i've always been interested in vampires & werewolves ever since i was a teenager. i did not just become one since this whole phenomenon w/ twilight (yes i'm a fan of that too..DON'T JUDGE ME! LOL) anyway they have always fascinated me...so with that said i wanted to introduce you to an oldie but a goodie that i had bought a long time ago about werewolves. i've read this book a ton of times one of those reasons may be because its set in the state i live in, Maryland. the book is called, Blood & Chocolate by Annette Curtis Klause. the story is about a teenager girl named Vivian who is a werewolf. she loves the change but the pack she is in doesn't have a leader and so she feels lost and wants to have a "normal" life. Vivian goes to school just like every other sixteen year old and she meets a cute human boy and "BAM" she falls in love with him...so who is this "meat-boy"? the poor kid is name Aiden. Aiden of course is into magic, and all that dark stuff and so Vivian thinks she might have a chance w/ him. Now along w/ these two love birds and whether they can survive, there's a murderer on the loose...yep and they have threatened to expose the pack that Vivian is in. So what is Vivian going to do? is she really going to tell Aiden the truth about herself? and what about the murderer? is Vivian next?....i'm not going to tell you....so.....READ IT!!!!

I read Blood and Chocolate because I'm a HUGE fan of Annette Kurtis Klaus, and she certainly did not dissapoint in this werewolf love story.'

Vivian Gandillon relishes the change, the ache that carries her from girl to wolf. At sixteen, she is beautiful and strong, and all the young wolves are on her tail. But Vivian still grieves for her dead father; her pack remains leaderless and in dissarrayand she feels lost in the suburbs of Maryland. She longs for a normal life; but what is normal for a werewolf?

Then Vivian falls in love with a human, a meatboy. Aiden is kind and gentle, a welcome relief from the squabbling pack. He's fascinated by magic, and Vivian longs to reveal herself to him. Surely he would understand her and delight in the wonder of her dual nature, not fear her as an ordinary human would.

Vivian's divided loyalities are strained further when a brutal murder threatens to expose the pack. Moving between two worlds, she does not seem to belong in either. What is she really--human or beast? Which taste sweeter--blood or chocolate?

I can't go on long enough about how good Blood and Chocolate was. Vivian is such a real character, completly believable in her confusion and need to be wanted because of who she is, not because of what she is. She and her pack are the most memorable, touching part of the entire book. While rowdy and annoying, in the end, they do show how much they love her.

I especially love the ending--not like Twilight or all the other paranormal romances these days. It doesn't end with a happily ever after, nor does it end like the summary implies. It's hard to explain without giving it away, but, while the ending is not exactly what a lot of people would want, it is the perfect ending for this particular book.

In short, a great love story!

Blood and Chocolate is about a girl named Vivian who loves turning into a werewolf. She is sixteen and has every wolf on her tail. But she still mourns the death of her father. She longs for a normal life but how can she achieve that when she is a werewolf? Then she falls in love with a human, Aiden who is obsessed with magic. But when a murder threatens to expose her pack she is devided between her loyalties.

This was a great book. It showed a werewolf with human proplems. The characters were realistic and lovable. This is one of my favorite books.

This book was so addicting that I read it in one sitting!  The main character is struggling to be accepted in a world that can't accept who she is, all the while, struggling with just accepting who she is within herself.  I felt that the writing was beautiful and although, I disliked the characters at times, I loved the story as a whole.  I recommend this for fans of werewolves and anyone looking for a story about growing pains with a furry twist!

i loved this book. it gave a whole new approach to the behavior and actions of werevolves. it's intersting because i read this book during the twilight craze and can honestly say that it was awesome. it was intense and surreal and had me reading till 2 in the morning. i honestly couldn't put it down. in my head i was going on and on about vivian and aidan and wondering what the future holds for them. i saw the movie after i read thte book and trust me the book is way better. you get a sense of a teenage girl in love adn a family almost broken. what's a girl to do? this is a must read for all you jacob fans out there.

This was definitely a new twist to the world of werewolves. It is a love story, but it is about werewolves. It's about a 16 year old female werewolf that falls in love with a human, and as you can guess things get messy on both sides. Though what I didn't like about it was the fact the author didn't make our main character, our heroin not as strong, not as rebellious as she should have been. I really wish she would have made her more rebellious, because to get what you want in her kind of situation you have to rebel. Though it's a great book and I recommend it to people who like werewolf stories. I rate it PG-14 and give it 4 out of 5 stars.

This book is a refreshing break from what I usually read. Girt meets boy, girl falls for boy, madness ensues, happily ever after. But this book has so many twists and turns, you never know what is going to happen next! Will she be with Aiden the human boy, or with the mysterious, handsome, leader of her pack? This book leaves my hungry for more like it!
