WELCOME TO THE NEAR FUTURE, where good and honest citizens can enjoy watching the executions of society's most infamous convicted felons, streaming live on The Postman app from the suburbanized prison island Alcatraz 2.0.
When seventeen-year-old Dee Guerrera wakes up in a haze, lying on the ground of a dimly lit warehouse, she realizes she's about to be the next victim of the app. Knowing hardened criminals are getting a taste of their own medicine in this place is one thing, but Dee refuses to roll over and die for a heinous crime she didn't commit. Can Dee and her newly formed posse, the Death Row Breakfast Club, prove she's innocent before she ends up wrongfully murdered for the world to see? Or will The Postman's cast of executioners kill them off one by one?

TOP TEN ACTION MOVIE QUOTES
In #MurderTrending, Ethan (by far the best character I’ve ever written) speaks almost entirely in action movie quotes. Yep, you heard that correction. Action movies. Preferably of the Arnold Schwarzenegger variety, although his favorite movie of all time is Die Hard.
Conveniently, I also harbor a deep love for action flicks, and so I took great pleasure in compiling a list of potential quotes for Ethan to use in the book. I came up with 24 overall, spanning decades and subgenres, and today I thought I’d share my Top Ten favorite list most—but not all—of which made it into the book. Enjoy!
10. “Consider that a divorce.” (Total Recall)
The joy of this quote is the total deadpan delivery from Arnold, paired with this ridiculous line. It’s amazing.
9. “I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass…and I’m all out of bubblegun.” (They Live)
I mean, it’s Rowdy Roddy Piper. ROWDY. RODDY. PIPER. One of John Carpenter’s underrated films, in my humble opinion.
8. "Muscle beats import every time." (Fast & Furious)
It’s so nonsensical and ridiculous and glorious ever time Vin Diesel growls out this line. I love it.
7. "Hasta la vista, baby." (Terminator 2: Judgment Day)
The line that became a calling card. I mean, how many actors can you think of who have one line so permanently cemented to their legacy?
6. “Good? Bad? I’m the guy with the gun.” (Army of Darkness)
I so desperately wanted to have Ethan use this line in #MurderTrending, but he never actually has a gun. I know, right? I should have used it anyway. #regrets
5. "If it bleeds, we can kill it." (Predator)
You know what’s amazing about this movie? The logic. Yes, Arnold. If it bleeds, we can kill it. WELL DONE, SHERLOCK!
4. “Now I have a machine gun. Ho ho ho.” (Die Hard)
Unlike the Army of Darkness quote, this one actually did make it into the book, despite the lack of an actual machine good. Of course, I took a few liberties with it. You’ll have to read it to find out what I mean, but Ethan’s favorite movie is well-represented in the book.
3. "Get away from her, you bitch." (Aliens)
I actually had to cut this line from the book, not for language, but because it just didn’t work in the scene where I had added it. Broke my heart to do it because Ripley is my soul.
2. "You've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel lucky?' Well, do ya, punk?" (Dirty Harry)
The granddaddy of all action movie quotes from, arguably, the granddaddy of action movie stars. Like Vin, the way Clint growls out this line makes it iconic, and like Arnold, the line has become a calling card for the actor. But Clint did it first.
"I ain't got time to bleed." (Predator)
I can see where this might be viewed as a controversial #1 for this top ten list, especially considering that it’s not even Arnold’s line. But hear me out. First of all, like with They Live! we're getting this line from a professional wrestler (Jesse Ventura.) Second, in following with the logic presented in the other “bleed” quote from this movie, it’s kind of like words to live by. “Sir, I do not have any spare time in which to bleed.” Right, because who does?
For the record, I use this quote in my regular life all the time. It’s just so…perfect.
So that’s my Top Ten List of Action Movie quotes! Any of your favorites not on here? Let me know!
