Hello, YABCers! We're bringing you a different kind of reveal today!

Today we're super excited to celebrate the trailer reveal for THINGS WE KNOW BY HEART by Jessi Kirby, releasing April 21, 2015 from HarperTeen. Before we get to the trailer, here's a note from Jessi:

Hi YABC!

I’m so very excited to share the Things We Know By Heart trailer with you! I think it captures the feel of the book just perfectly, and for that I have to thank Justin McCaskill and his mad editing skills. We all know a trailer would be nothing without the music, so I also owe a huge thank you to my dear friend Matt Baradat, who watched this a million times, guitar in hand, and came up with a song that fits, beat for beat. Hope you all enjoy!

About the Book

In this unforgettable teen romance that fans of Sarah Dessen and Susane Colasanti will devour, Quinn Sullivan falls for the recipient of her boyfriend's donated heart, forming an unexpected connection that will leave readers utterly breathless.

After Quinn's boyfriend, Trent, dies in an accident their junior year, she reaches out to the recipients of his donated organs in hopes of picking up the fragments of her now-unrecognizable life. But whoever received Trent's heart has mysteriously remained silent. The essence of a person, Quinn has always believed, is in the heart. If she finds Trent's, then in a way she still has a piece of him.

Risking everything to find peace once and for all, Quinn goes outside the system to track down nineteen-year-old Colton Thomas—a guy whose life has been forever changed by this priceless gift. But what starts as an accidental run-in quickly develops into more, sparking an undeniable attraction. She doesn't want to give in to it—especially since he has no idea how they're connected—but their time together has made Quinn feel alive again. No matter how hard she's falling for Colton, each beat of his heart reminds her of all she's lost . . . and all that remains at stake.

This trailer was extremely well thought out and truly expressed what this story has in a simplistic yet symbolic one minute video. After listening to the first chapter audio and taking a look at the trailer, I saw the strong symbolic correlations right away. The definition of the heart was a perfect way of starting off the trailer since Quinn works hard to try to discover the person with Trent's heart. A couple running down right through the sunset just how Quinn wishes she can do this one more time with Trent. The glass representing the heartache that Quinn experiences and accident that Trent went through his junior year. The beating of the heart and the heart itself represents something that no one else can replicate. Quinn wrote letters to those who received transplants since Trent was a organ doner and she hoped that they would respond and notice her just like how Trent did. Within the end of the audio of the first chapter, Trent was holding a sunflower taller than Quinn and the trailer ended with a couple sharing a kiss under the sun. Quinn longed for that last kiss that could never happen again. Overall, this trailer was a great portrayal of this story in a quick trailer. Jessi Kirby really captured me since all these events are part of a teen's life whether it'd be falling in love or sometimes having to experience heartbreak in the hardest ways. Awesome music to go along with it as well!
