Teen Read Week 2017: Author Chat with Kim Liggett (Heart Of Ash) & Giveaway!

HOASM

Today we're excited to chat with Kim Liggett (Heart Of Ash)

as part of YABC's Teen Read Week!

Read on for more about Kim, her novel, plus a giveaway!

Meet Kim Liggett!

At sixteen, Kim Liggett left her rural midwestern town for New York City to pursue a career in music. Along with lending her voice to hundreds of studio recordings, she was a backup singer for some of the biggest rock bands in the 80's.
Kim spends her free time studying the tarot and scouring Manhattan for vials of rare perfume and the perfect egg white cocktail.

Meet Heart Of Ash!

Ash may have escaped the immortal-worshipping cult that killed her mother, but the love of her life is still under its thrall. Dane has been possessed by his diabolical ancestor Coronado, a man who's fabulously wealthy, dripping with fame, and the leader of Europe's most dangerous immortal network. Dane begs Ash to join him at Coronado's castle in Spain, and swears that his blood bond with Ash is stronger than Coronado's hold over him. Ash is desperate to help Dane vanquish Coronado without having to sacrifice herself to the darkness. But when you're all in, blood and salt, the only way to hold on to the light might just be by setting everything on fire.

~ Interview for Teen Read Week ~

YABC:  What current YA book would you recommend to your teenage self?

I loved horror, obviously. I had a brief obsession with cheesy romance novels, mostly for the dirty bits. But I also devoured the Sweet Valley High books.

YABC: Which social media site do you wish had been available to you as a teen and why?

I thank my lucky stars on a daily basis that social media was nonexistent during my teen years. I would've been all over every platform making a complete fool of myself. I was that girl. HAHA.

YABC:  What book from your younger years do you still recommend today?

Flowers in the Attic. I've read it at various points of my life and it still holds up. Man, that book is CREEPY and BEAUTIFUL and WEIRD.

My favorite from when I was a teen, this is hard! I didn't really have a favorite, but a lot of series that were favorites. I loved The Baby-Sitters Club even after I was too old to still love it probably haha, and Lurlene McDaniels's books would make me cry so hard, I loved them!
