Meet Ever the Brave!

Ever the Divided. Ever the Feared. Ever the Brave.

After saving King Aodren with her newfound Channeler powers, Britta only wants to live a peaceful life in her childhood home. Unfortunately, saving the King has created a tether between them she cannot sever, no matter how much she'd like to, and now he's insisting on making her a noble lady. And there are those who want to use Britta’s power for evil designs. If Britta cannot find a way to harness her new magical ability, her life—as well as her country—may be lost.

The stakes are higher than ever in the sequel to Ever the Hunted, as Britta struggles to protect her kingdom and her heart.

5 Songs For Ever the Brave

Levitate by Imagine Dragons

There are so many relationships explored in Ever The brave. This song helped me find my focus when I was writing two characters that are apart from one another. All relationships experience times of stress and distance. I love how this song capture the yearning to return to something good and solid in a relationship.

I Won’t Give Up by Jason Mraz

This song helped me when I was writing in Cohen’s perspective. In Ever the Brave, he’s away from Britta, the woman he loves. He’s trying to track down someone who is powerful and dangerous. And that distance puts strain on his relationship with Britta. But he’s determined...and sometimes overbearing. There is tenderness in this song that Cohen lacks and eventually learns.

Old Pine by Ben Howard

I love every song this man writes, but this song has a feeling of discovery and movement in it that helps me get into the writing zone. It set the stage for much of Ever the Hunted and Ever The Brave.

Constellations by Tom Odell

This song has so much yearning and beauty in it, but it also has some sadness. Britta has been through a lot and she’s growing into herself. She’s exploring other relationships, and seeing old ones in a new light. This song helped me feel that complexity of wanting something different and at the same time loving what you have.

Remember Me by Thomas Bergersen (Illusions)

Most of the time I write to soundtracks or classical songs. I heard this song right about the time I was writing the conclusion of the novel. I needed something light and freeing. This song has all that magic and more. It’s beautiful!
