Rockstar Book Tours Blog Tour, Interview, & Giveaway: Fragile Chaos (Amber R Duell)

Amber R. Duell was born and raised in a small town in Central New York. While it will always be home, she’s spent the last six years living in Germany, Maine, and Mississippi as a military wife where the next step is always an adventure.
When Amber isn't writing, she's wrangling her two young sons. She is a lover of history, a fan of snowboarding, and a travel enthusiast. In her downtime, she can be found curling up with a good book and a cat or two.

Meet Fragile Chaos!
A GOD OF WAR SEEKING RESTORATION.
AN UNWILLING SACRIFICIAL BRIDE.
BETRAYAL THAT COULD DESTROY THEM BOTH.
“Every fiber of my being is woven from the rage of mortals.”
Theodric, the young God of War, has a talent for inciting conflict and bloodshed. After being stripped of his powers by his older brother, King of Gods, he sets out to instigate a mortal war to prove himself worthy of being restored to power.
“I loved Kisk once; it was my home… But that was before. This is now.”
Sixteen-year-old Cassia, like many in the modern era, believes gods and goddesses to be just a myth. Enemy to her country and an orphan of the war, she has no time for fairy tales. That’s until religious zealots from Theo’s sect offer her up as a sacrifice.
Can Cassia and Theo end the mortal war and return balance to the earth and heavens? Or, will their game of fate lead down a path of destruction, betrayal, and romance neither of them saw coming?

YABC: What gave you the inspiration to write this book?
I read an article about a 500-year-old Incan girl they found mummified on a volcano. They think she was sacrificed to the gods, and it got me thinking about who she was and what she thought about dying. Did she think she would ascend to some special place? Did she not want to do it or was she eager to please the gods? Then I thought about what it would be like if that happened in modern times. Everything stemmed from there.
YABC: Who is your favorite character in the book?
Leander, God of Death. I want to hug him forever!
YABC: Which came first, the title or the novel?
The novel, sort of. The title came about halfway into the first draft.
YABC: Thinking way back to the beginning, what’s the most important thing you've learned as a writer from then to now?
Write now, edit later. Everything is fixable if you get the words on the page!
YABC: What do you like most about the cover of the book?
Everything! I feel like I won the cover lottery. But if I have to pick, the gold is my favorite part.
YABC: What new release book are you looking most forward to in 2017?
It’s out now but The Crown’s Fate by Evelyn Skye. I needed answers!
YABC: Which was the most difficult or emotional scene to narrate?
The scene when Cassia discovers a secret everyone’s been keeping. I would’ve completely snapped if I were in her shoes, but Cassia is made of stronger stuff. It was hard having her keep things (mostly) together when I knew she was hurting so much inside.
YABC: Which part of the writing process do you enjoy more: Drafting or Revising?
Oh, that’s a hard one! I think I have to go with revising. It’s a lot of fun letting creativity spew out onto the page, but I love watching the story take shape once revisions start.
YABC: What would you say is your superpower?
Organizing! Which sounds lame, but I’m totally like Sheldon in that episode of Big Bang where Howard asks him to sort their closet.
