It’s Live!! Cover Reveal: Wreck by Kirstin Cronn-Mills + Giveaway (International)
Today we're super excited to celebrate the cover reveal for WRECK by Kirstin Cronn-Mills, releasing 04/02/2019 from Skyhorse Publishing. Before we get to the reveal, here's a message from Kirstin:
Hello, YABC readers! Thanks for gazing lovingly (just like I do) at the cover for my new novel, Wreck. I was not expecting my cover to actually represent the place where the book is set, but it does! The lighthouse on my cover is a working lighthouse on the south shore of Lake Superior, in Duluth, Minnesota, along the channel where the Edmund Fitzgerald left for its rendezvous with destiny (that shipwreck is part of the book, too). The book's main character, Tobin, lives about 1.5 miles east of the lighthouse. In October, 2018, it survived ENORMOUS waves in an early-fall storm. It's quite exciting (though maybe weird) to have a Great Lake (and one of its lighthouses) as a character in your book, but it's even more exciting when the Great Lake shows off her power and a person captures that intensity in a photo that could be your book cover. Again, thanks for taking time to check out Wreck!
Yours like a beacon in a storm,
Kirstin Cronn-Mills (WRECK, Skyhorse Publishing)

Sometimes Loss Has Its Own Timetable
Set on the shores of Lake Superior, Wreck follows high school junior Tobin Oliver as she navigates her father’s diagnosis of ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease).
Steve’s life as a paramedic and a runner comes to an abrupt halt just as Tobin is preparing her application for a scholarship to art school. With the help of Steve’s personal care assistant (and family friend) Ike, Tobin attends to both her photography and to Steve as his brain unexpectedly fails right along with his body.
Tobin struggles to find a “normal” life, especially as Steve makes choices about how his own will end. Though she fights against it, Tobin comes to realize that respecting her father’s decision is the ultimate act of love.
Kirstin Cronn-Mills is a writer and teacher. Her novel Beautiful Music for Ugly Children won the 2014 Stonewall Award from the American Library Association, and several of her books have received both state and national recognition. She lives with her family and her goofball animals in southern Minnesota, which is entirely too far from Lake Superior.
3 winners will each receive a signed ARC and a Lake Superior agate for one of the main characters.
Entering is simple, just fill out the entry form below. Winners will be announced on this site and in our monthly newsletter (sign up now!) within 30 days after the giveaway ends.
During each giveaway, we ask entrants a question pertaining to the book. Here is the question they'll be answering in the comments below for extra entries:
What do you think about the cover and synopsis?
I am so into this book because of the setting and the background history along with the interesting synopsis. The cover is beautiful, but it certainly doesn't let us in on the turmoil I'm expecting inside (love it anyway). Good luck with your book.
What a stunning cover and finding out that it is the actual lighthouse referenced in the book makes the cover just that much more special.
The synopsis is perfect. I now want to read this book. ALS affects too many people and having books with ALS characters will help raise awareness about this devastating disease.
I can't wait to read and review this book on my blog.
The cover is so beautiful and I think it'd be a fantastic book to have because it opens my mind to different perspectives and how things can affect a persons life.
