It's live!! Cover Reveal: Waiting for Augusta by Jessica Lawson + Giveaway (International)

Get ready to feast your eyes on a stunning full jacket reveal, YABCers!

Today we're super excited to celebrate the cover reveal for WAITING FOR AUGUSTA by Jessica Lawson, releasing May 10, 2016 from Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers. Before we get to the cover, here's a note from Jessica:

Hello YABC!

I’m so thrilled to be revealing the cover of my third middle grade novel, Waiting for Augusta. When I learned that the cover art would be done by Kenard Pak (https://www.facebook.com/kenardpakart), I was SO excited to see what he came up with. The natural feeling of his artwork and the fact that watercolor painting is important to my protagonist made him the perfect choice. This is a book about second chances at connection and it has elements of magical realism, and I think that comes through with the starry skies and—wait, I’m spoiling it! Never mind! But I do have to tell you that I absolutely adore the cover that Kenard and book jacket designer Lizzy Bromley have come up with, and can’t wait to share it!

WAITING FOR AUGUSTA

by Jessica Lawson
Release date: May 10, 2016
Publisher: Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers
ISBN: 9781481448390

About the Book

Eleven-year-old Benjamin Putter has a lump in his throat, and he’s certain it’s a golf ball.

It sounds crazy, he knows. But everything's been topsy-turvy since his father died last month.

Then one day something starts tugging at Ben, telling him to hurry to Augusta, Georgia—home of the most famous golf course in the world.

Ben might be going loony, but escaping Hilltop, Alabama sounds like a darn good idea. (And just maybe it will make that lump go away.) As he makes his way to Augusta, Ben partners up with a myserious runaway named Noni, and they embark on a journey with surprises—and possibly magic—at every turn.

Her other middle-grade novels are The Actual & Truthful Adventures of Becky Thatcher and Nooks & Crannies.

I love the cover--you have serious good fortune with your cover designs, Jess.
And even though I'm not a big golf fan, the synopsis totally makes me want to read the story, even if I didn't already love Jessica's other books!

So neat that this book has golf in it! I've not read that in a MG before. And that beautiful font and the stars just make my heart SO happy.

I love the cover and I'm already a big fan of Jessica Lawson's writing! I'd love to read this book and also read it to my kids. The first line...a golf ball in his throat...so descriptive. Fabulous.
