Hi, YABCers!

Today we're excited to celebrate the cover reveal for

The Key of Skeleton Peak by Brad McLelland and Louis Sylvester,

releasing March 17, 2020 from Henry Holt and Co. (BYR)!

Before we get to the cover, here's a note from the authors:

Howdy, YABC! Brad and Louis here (we like to call ourselves Team Lost Causes), welcoming everyone to the exclusive cover reveal for THE KEY OF SKELETON PEAK: LEGENDS OF THE LOST CAUSES VOLUME 3!

Why is this such an important day for us? Because it’s been nearly TEN YEARS in the making, that’s why! We began this series all the way back in 2010, when we first sat down together with notebooks and pens and began mapping out the magical Old West story of Keech Blackwood and his ragtag team of orphan avengers. Fast forward through a gazillion rough drafts, a barnload of Google Docs and emails, a whole wagon full of chocolate, and two published volumes, and here we are, staring at the most heart-stoppin’, jaw-droppin’, breathtakin’ cover we’ve ever seen to help us conclude Keech’s whirlwind, white-knuckle adventure. That’s right: Book 3 wraps up our long and perilous tale of justice and friendship in the Old West, and we couldn’t be prouder to offer this latest cover for the grand finale.

Who do we have to thank for this extraordinary piece of art? None other than the great Alexandria Neonakis, that’s who! It’s been such an honor to work with Alex, and we’re beyond thrilled to have this opportunity to showcase her magnificent talents. Oh! And be sure to peer mighty closely at the cover; you might just find a frightful bit of danger lurking in the background. (Don’t say we didn’t warn ya!). So without further ado, we proudly offer you the cover of THE KEY OF SKELETON PEAK, galloping in on March 17, 2020!

Ride tall in the saddle, friends!

The Key of Skeleton Peak

Brad McLelland and Louis Sylvester

Release date: March 17, 2020

Publisher: Henry Holt and Co. (BYR)

About the Book

Keech Blackwood and his fellow Lost Causes have won their share of battles, but the war against the ruthless sorcerer Reverend Rose still rages on.

This time, the Lost Causes face their most perilous trial yet: stopping Rose and his henchmen from retrieving an ancient, powerful object that would help return him to his full, frightening strength. As the vigilante orphans race to the dangerous depths of Skeleton Peak, the sight of the magical object, they’ll have to outmaneuver Rose’s most faithful—and menacing—ally: an inhuman creature spawned by darkness and shadow. But ever in pursuit of justice and vengeance for their fallen families, the Lost Causes won’t give up without a fight.

Packed with rip-roaring action, adventure, and powerful friendships, this series is perfect for fans of John Flanagan's The Brotherband Chronicles and Peter Lerangis's The Seven Wonders.
