releasing April 2019 from Evernight Teen!
Before we get to the cover, here's a note from the author:
Hi YABC! Thank you for joining me for the exclusive cover reveal for (NOT QUITE) THE SAME OLD SONG!
An author isn’t always given a lot of (if any) input into their book’s cover art, but the team at Evernight Teen really went above and beyond when it came to listening to my suggestions. I’d like to thank them for not only loving my book but putting the fate of its cover into the incredibly talented hands of Jay Aheer of Simply Defined Art. This cover really sets the tone for Darcy’s story, and I couldn’t love it more!

Release date: April 2019
Publisher: Evernight Teen
About the Book
When her brother relapses—again—and disappears with the rent money, Darcy Andrews is forced to pawn the one thing that means the most to her. Her guitar, Darlene. Suddenly the plus-size teen’s plans for a stress-free summer before senior year are washed down the drain. Now she must earn enough money to get her brother the help he needs and to buy Darlene back.
Enter Grey, the pawnshop owner’s son. Popular, annoyingly hot, and inexplicably on stage with Darlene in his hands. Not only is he playing her guitar, but he kind of sucks at it. Before she can stop herself, Darcy is offering Grey guitar lessons, adding yet another complication to her plans – a summer romance with the last boy she ever thought would be interested in her.
It’s all sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll. Except, not quite. She’s down one guitar, the drugs are her brother’s problem, and once school starts back, Darcy is afraid Grey is embarrassed to be seen with her. But when an opportunity to win money for her brother’s rehab arises, she won’t let all that stand in her way.

I am suuuuper excited for another book by Lindsey Ouimet! As a musician myself, I cannot even begin to express how the synopsis pulls on my heart strings. I cannot imagine having to pawn my drumset! But, the things we do for love...
Plus, that cover. I love the background and how Darcy is portrayed. The one thing I struggle with? That girl isn't a plus-size girl, as the synopsis describes her. Either that, or everyone I know is plus-size! O_o It's a bit disappointing.
I wish the girl on the cover was a little more "plus size" as described, but the cover is beautiful and eye catching so its hard to imagine it differently
I’m attracted to the earthy feel of this cover. I like the mute colors and extensive use of white. It makes me curious about the story. I also really like the title.
The cover is great but the girl on it isn't plus sized. The story sounds really dramatic and relevant as the opioid epidemic is affecting so many people.
